Howdy Partners!

You guys and gals ready for the rootinest, tootinest pinball show this side of the Pecos? You ready to share the joy of the silver ball and help raise money for local youngsters? Here at Pin-a-Go-Go HQ things are really starting to heat up and we are ready for y'all to start signing machines up! The sign up form is up and raring to go, just mosey on over to the URL below and help us wrangle up more pins:

http://pinagogo.org/bring-games/

Just like in prior years, you can earn a free weekend pass, sweet lanyard from Nifty, food voucher, Saturday breakfast and so much more by simply bringing two fully working games. Keep in mind these three simple rules when bringing games in exchange for a free weekend pass:
- Games must be in working condition!
- Games must remain on the premises for play until Sunday after 5pm.
- You will be asked to pay the regular weekend admission charge of $45 at the beginning of the show and you will be reimbursed $45 in cash at 5:00pm Sunday.

Games can be setup in Dixon on Thursday 5/12 9am - 5pm and Friday 5/13 8am - noon. Show opens 1pm Friday. We encourage you to leave your games until show closing at 5pm on Sunday. Games can be removed after this time and also on Monday morning from the main hall. If you have to take a game out early we understand but please let us know during check in.

Pin-a-Go-Go is a non-profit entity and all proceeds go to local youth charities. If there are any questions please email Greg at [email protected] or Seth at [email protected]. Also see the website for more details about the show and bringing games. You should see your pins listed on our website shortly after signing up (may take a few minutes for the list to refresh).

Thanks very much from the Pin-a-Go-Go Posse!

Looks like I'm hauling two games down for pinsiders. Which leaves me space for one...
What to bring, what to bring...

I may bring my Caribbean Cruise for sale. Nice condition, but a parrot lost his head in the top right corner. Comes with a complementary vinyl bandage and a case of beer. We can also gamble and make up rules as we go. :}

Please do. I'd like to play it.

I've started with 5 games. I'm sure i will be adding to the list of games from me. Just want to know what I've got as it gets closer, due to moving a bunch of games around. Plus, all the project machines idk if I'll have up or not until it gets closer to may.

Thanks Seth, for the reminder. This show works because of amazing collectors sharing their games with others. I learned last year that it feels great to bring a game and see it put smiles on people's faces. Also, those who volunteer to help at the event.

I have a couple EMS that could show up if the EM list is short handed as long as we have a tech that can help me clean reels. For some reason I am terrible at cleaning reels. I have less working after cleaning than before I touched them. Gahh...!!!

Izzy, are you doing a pinball tech seminar for working on EMs this year? I need all the help I can get! Haha. I swear working on EMs is like an artform. An artform I haven't even come close to perfecting yet.

For purely selfish reasons I say Frontier or Magic Castle! I have always wanted to play both of these.

Sorry premature posting about some classic sterns I was bringing

#8 8 years ago

Do the games have to be pre-approved now before you bring them? I usually pick something out of my lineup and bring it, sometimes the decision is last minute.

No, no need to be pre-approved. The signup list is for those that know what they want to bring already. It helps us plan and prepare earlier, but is not required.

#10 8 years ago

Oh good. You know me, I have a lot going on so I'm a last minute kinda guy. Still working on two "over the top" (each for a different reason) Punk's. Are there any other Punk pinballs locally in the SFBA? I only know of the two.

There is one local here in Sac that is probably available to play.

I couldn't wait...Just booked a room at New York New York to bet on the Masters and play pinball.

Can't wait to see you, Spencer. Love having your enthusiasm back. So happy you're feeling better!

#17 8 years ago

Sorry for the duplicate post- wondering if it is worth bringing a High Speed with issues. No background sound and left sling causes a short so it's disconnected.

On the plus side, it has a very nice fast playfield and a pinduino light show.

I'd bring something nicer if I had anything!

Let's see if we can get that sling fixed so you can bring it. No one will be able to hear the background sounds anyway.

Pm me about the sling and I'll help as much as I can

Thanks, Cheddar. PM sent.

#22 8 years ago

We've got a DE Simpsons and Bally Wizard! coming up with us, for play and for sale/trade. There might be a Bally Playboy coming along as well.

#23 8 years ago

I'm taking a Popeye and JD for play and sale/trade.

#24 8 years ago

#26 8 years ago

what is the rule on just bringing 1 game?

#27 8 years ago

You get our thanks! Still have to pay to get in

#28 8 years ago
Quoted from KenPin:

At one game you get still invited to our exclusive Saturday morning breakfast, Coffee, danish, fruit and all the pinball you can eat-- open ONLY to folks who brought games!

You also get a limited edition lanyard that proclaims to all that you brought games!

When you bring two games or more, you get the free admission and a food voucher from the Dixon Teen center.

#29 8 years ago

the game count is at 84. that's a good start. the goal is 300 games. 37 days until pagg. pinheads, lets get those games on the list.

see you at pagg.

Cool thanks. I am eager to attend as this will be my first time--we have a family reunion every year on the 3rd weekend in May; and luckily, PAGG counted the weekends differently than the family did this year.

#32 8 years ago

Yeah, we do the weekend after Mother's day every year, so it's all based on Mother's day. Glad you are making it out and bringing a pin on your first visit, very awesome!

#33 8 years ago

Awesome! make sure to say hello and we can get a cold drink and talk story. years ago when I was a route tech in pest control I used to work in the shingletown area now and then.

#34 8 years ago

The list is good to know, in that it may give someone an idea what might be there. People bring what they bring, many at the last moment. It has been this way for years. The pin count is a moot point, since there are always more games there than the venue can even support....

#35 8 years ago

I agree there is a flurry at the last moment, but the last two years there were over 200 machines signed up before the show. And in the last two years, all machines have been set up. No machines are turned away and there is always room for all. So would disagree there are more games then can be supported (at least for the last two years).

This is a thread (IMHO) to help get the word out and to have fun discussion on what we all should bring. Pin count is just a fun talking point and gives us an idea of how the show is shaping up.

Flash! Keith Elwin is bringing his archer pin to pin a go go. its going to be the best pin a go go ever.

#37 8 years ago

want to bring some pins this year, will be there Friday morn, but absolutely 100%, have to leave Sunday morning. What's the protocol on that?

That is simply awesome news!!

#39 8 years ago

So I'm more than willing to bring my gorgeous WCS94 that was restored by pinwillie and my super nice rollergames for people to play, but two problems. My transport only holds one, and I won't be there until closing on Sunday. Plus with a newborn I have to make it easy on myself and especially my wife.

So if there's an east bay truck or one that's coming up 80 I can throw mine in. I'm about five minutes up a hill of highway 80. Let me know.

Hey Steve,

I still have the Pinside ID badges from last year and will make sure they get to the show. Is there a table/place where you would like to have them placed?

I totally forgot! I have a few left as well. You going to be there early Friday? I plan on helping set up

#42 8 years ago

Probably get there Thursday depending if I get back from the honeymoon soon enough, if not, it will be Friday

#43 8 years ago

Cool, let's touch base closer but plan on Friday morning. Congrats on the honeymoon!

I'm bringing all two of my pins.

Couple of quick questions since this is my first time bringing them to a show:

Is there a way to keep them close to each other or even next to each other? (Is it based on how quickly I can bring them in?)

Do I keep my tools and parts bags with/near the machines or do folks just leave them in their vehicles?

Will there be "Not For Sale" labels available? (Or should I make some for myself?)

Any other hints/tips for a first-time game bringer?

#47 8 years ago

Bring pins. Bring them all! I was just screwing around to see if my maiden voyage onto Pinside would go through....
Seth, Brad, Loren, mostly Yvette. Glad to see you made it back Spencer!

Good questions!

1) Yes, they can stay together...that is typical setup unless there is a guest theme or your pin is requested (and you approve) for the tournament.

2) I always have a fairly robust kit in my car of tools so I can work on my pins if needed. The show does provide general repairs for issues that occur during the show (the pin should be in full working condition prior to show, we don't fix machines that come in broken). In general, once the show starts, all repairs should run first through the techs as there can be hazards to working on machines during a busy show. We even setup a pinball hospital where we can pull machines off the floor to work on them.

3) The tag that is taped to the machine with the key number and your name has a spot where you mark the machine as not for sale. It will be clearly visible to everyone.

Cheers!

you should be able set up games together or at least close, PAGG has had labels in the past, and u can store your tools/spare parts in the "pinball medic" room. Put fresh pinballs in your games, and check posts, plastic nuts, etc. for tightness.
