I was very excited to pick up MM today! Ironically while checking out the machine I noticed the build date was exactly 14 years ago today!

This one came to me already decked out with full LEDs.. looks fantastic!

Congrats! Time to update your collection list.

#3 8 years ago

Thanks! Just updated it! Now waiting on TAF to get here Tuesday and MB should ship the week after next... I should have a decent little collection then.

I hate you...

You win the lottery or something? Have hurricane futures? buy a ton of Netflix or Apple stock a few years ago? Are you a foreclosure attorney?

Nope just very fortunate, and I have an understanding wife who also loves pinball as well.

I'm done buying for a bit... Unless I see a really good deal on LOTR. THEN I am done...

great buy man, hang on to it.

Nice, enjoy! I got to Battle for the Kingdom today. All I needed was one shot to battle the King of Payne, and I couldn't pull it off before time expired. Maybe next time.

I love the humor of the game, and I'd like to tell you my favorite line, but it often happens when you get to the King of Payne's castle (after you destroy all his henchmen's castles), and I don't want to spoil the potential laugh for you.

Congrats. Just be careful, you just got started. You did good staying with the same manufacture it helps with PCB's on a few of them. I think you need to slow down and start collecting some high risk game specific parts and cliffys to protect your investment. Check out the prices to replace some of the plastics on your high end games if you can find them. That will sober you up. Remember you've got balls of steel flying around. In the future you'll need to change rubbers, clean playfields, and keep AA batteries fresh each year. I change the balls in my machines more than they should. After awhile the steel balls can get small pits (hard to see) and act like sandpaper on your playfield speeding up wear on well traveled lanes. Maybe I'm guilty of being too proactive, I have lots of time and have several pin parties per year and I can't keep up with just 8 machines. Plastics for AFM pins are outrageous.......if you can find them. Hey, just trying to help I don't know your situation. There's a guy who has 18 machines and I don't know how he keeps up. I guess some of this depends on how many games are played on them. I got mine to play the hell out of them not to sit for show. Good luck.

Thanks for the concern Loupie, I've already looked into Cliffy protectors for the machines that don't already have them. I definitely prefer the Williams/Bally machines so you are right it does make it easier for maintenance. I'm only up to 5 machines right now, well I will be once TAF gets here tomorrow and MB gets here sometime next week. I'll probably stop there for a bit and catch my breath, but I do have room for at least two or three more.

The maintenance and upkeep on the pinball machines doesn't scare me... Pinball is pretty tame compared to my car maintenance... Besides at least it is something I can do myself rather than taking it to some over priced mechanic.

Good point. Start collecting game specific parts if you have the opportunity, but save some of TAF parts for me. Don't take them all. Please don't drive the e-bay parts up, we won't hear the end of it. Happy hunting.

I'm looking forward to getting to that point... It's gonna be a lot more practice for me though.. I'm still trying to get the level tweaked a bit. I am getting far too many STDMs when it launches back at you from the castle. Looks like I also need to check the ball return as when multi-ball kicks in sometimes you have to shake the machine to get the third ball to get launched.

Other than that it is playing great!

-very nice game
good luck with it

Nice, looks primo!! I'd recommend going to Mantis Amusement's website to buy the Merlin and drawbridge / lock protector (if you haven't already). It doesn't look like there's hardly any wear in those areas at all.

Like the graffiti on the drawbridge too!

Is that a translicent backboard or are there some blue LEDs back there? The blue glow looks nice.

#31 8 years ago

beautiful. thats a keeper.

#32 8 years ago

What an amazing looking game! that's great. and your left flipper and sitting a little low.

#33 8 years ago

Looks nice. Is that purple lights under the right ramp?

All of the bumpers back there are purple, I am not sure what color the LEDs are but they look white.

Um thanks GoneFishin

Hmm I'll have to look at that... maybe that is why I get so many STDMs out of the castle launcher.

There is a little bit of wear around Merlin so I am looking for a protector for it very soon. I am not sure about the back board I will have to get in there and see.

Congrats, such a fun pin!

#37 8 years ago

Great pickup Scott. I'm going to be taking mine apart soon to give it a cleaning and add cliffy's in the castle and possibly a lighted play field back board. I put a lighted back board in AFM and I love it so I may do MM too. I really like the play. Although the Castles are a little easy to blow up but thats just 1 part of the game. Enjoy it.

Now go save the Damsels

i love that game

There is a MM currently up for sale on Ebay in the UK. It has created a big stir in the pinball community here because it is the first one that has been available for a while in good condition, and has not had an deal made off Ebay and withdrawn. Currently at £5,800 ($9,300) with just over three days to go.

Just an amazing machine in my opinion and #1 in my ratings. I would love to own one, but it's too much money to justify owning one at the moment. Maybe a few here in the UK will soon get sold off to finance a NIB WOZ and hopefully bring the price down a bit?
