Excited to have it as a display piece. Atari's Time 2000 backglass. Only 125 games produced, and only 7 serials listed on the serial database. Hadnt heard of this one until I saw the backglass for sale from a non-collector. Listed for $125, she took $75 for it. She runs an antique/collectible business and is moving out of state. Would love to play the game one day, it looks very cool but most people seem to think it's a dog

Most Atari pins are dogs as far as game play goes. Great art though so a cool piece you picked up.

Cool glass.
Game does look like a dog.
Not many, if any, good Atari titles.

Yeah that is true! I haven't played them much at all, but that appears to be the general consensus. Atari had the potential to really make an impact in the world of pinball but it never happened. All their games *look* amazing, but gameplay and hardware wise they seem to leave a lot to be desired. I don't mind a slower (read: widebody) pin if there's a lot to shoot for and do, but on the Time 2000 it just looks like there isn't much to shoot for. I really like the dual playfield idea

I recently played one. Atari pins have beautiful artwork, but at atrocious. It’s funny because they’re made by Steve Richie. The issue is everything else. Hardware is unreliable, flippers feel like total garbage, and the games lack lots of proper objectives to shoot for. I think they could be fun with a little tweaking. Maybe if the flippers could be replaced with some Williams parts or coils be upgraded.

Anyone have any experience framing backglasses? I would like to clean it up, frame it and put it in my apartment. The glass is giving me Eclipse and maybe Spanish Eyes vibes

I recently lost 90% of my pictures but I did come across this one that I took in 2006 of a Space invaders one that I hung in it's original frame, I've since installed all the boards so that it will run in attract mode with working displays and such, just like if it was in the game.

If you just want the glass on the wall with no frame, consider mirror clips. Very easy to do.

Just FYI, there isn't currently a confirmed production number. The only Atari games that have an approximate number are Airborne Avenger and Superman. The sales number for Airborne Avenger was only discovered in the last couple years (3,420), which was well beyond the estimated production number of 350 that was originally assumed. IPDB appears to have removed the unconfirmed production numbers for the other atari games, but those numbers might till be found elsewhere when they were originally referenced from IPDB.

There were a lot more Time 2000's made than you think. I've seen several over the years
and had two. Still have the PC board for one here somewhere.
Superman and Hercules were the best players of the bunch.

The Time 2K BG was the most attractive of them all IMO. Congrats on finding one.

Got it, thanks. I got the 125 number from the description on Pinside. Maybe that should be erased?

Done. I'm not sure who added those comments.

When I checked the entry earlier, I only looked at the production numbers field, which was already blank.

Cool, yeah the way it was written was confusing too. I will assume 2000 were made then for the meme

If Hercules is one of the top players in your opinion, that's saying something lol

I have no idea how many were made.

I will say that out of all the Atari titles, when I was hunting for them, Time 2000 and Atarians were the most difficult to find. The other titles tended to pop up with some regularity.
