Have a friend that doesn't post on Pinside that is considering buying one of these 5 games. He currently owns 90's B/W's DMD games along with some Chicago Gaming Remakes. He doesn't own any Stern or JJP yet.

Owned 2 Totans .. Very pretty game , however very easy to complete. Didn't keep my interest although I did buy it twice.

What’s his skill level?
My suggestion:
Novice - LOTR or TOTAN
Mediocre - WOZ
Expert - JP or JJPOTC
Quoted from hoov:Mediocre. Big on movie themed games and likes audio clips from the movies.
LOTR is still really good for mediocre and has the best implementation of the movie of all those pins. LOTR is the clunkiest Playing of them all, but if he loves LOTR movies and hasn’t experienced the game. That may be the one.
JP has practically 0 movie assets but pinsiders have put one together that I’ve heard is awesome.
JJPOTC movie assets is pretty much peoples hands and feet from the movie with some ships. And there’s only one person doing narrative call outs - they’re really good call outs, but only one voice.
WOZ is great if the theme is up your alley. It has a great mix for all skill levels with great movie assets and sound package.

Thanks for the advice. We actually have a Stern JP, a JJPOTC, and a LOTR local to us to go try out too.
TOTAN and LOTR would not be my selection. Maybe it would be a few years ago but I find those games too easy to play now. If I'm picking a game I need last-ability.
I love the looks of WOZ, but I find myself getting bored of it for some reason.
I want to choose JJPOTC, but I'm afraid of the constant maintenance. I've heard this as an issue from a number of sources that I trust. If I know I could get this pin and have 0 problems, this would be my pick. But if not, JP2 is my selection.

Thanks. JP2 is polling good.
