I found Tim and said hello. He's as eccentric as ever, but I always stop and thank him for running the place. He declined my donation offer and just asked me to put it in the Salvation Army kettle. Happy to do just that.

Most games were working well. They have a Metallica Premium. It was really fun. What a great looking game. Note to travelers, its kind of hard to get a cab back from there. Your almost better off flagging one down from the street.

Or waiting for a cab that's dropping someone else off.

I almost missed my flight out last time I was there. Flagging down a taxi can be almost impossible as there's not a lot of them on the streets in that area. If you call for one, give yourself at least 30-45 minutes for them to arrive.

I heard there's a City ordinance against that--so getting one to do so adds to the difficultly.

Not 100% sure--as I always rent a car to be able to come and go at will--and hit In-N-Out on Maryland Pkwy at will.

The ordinance, I believe, is only in place on the strip . . . they want to force people to the hotel lines for a more orderly pick up (which makes perfect sense). You can flag them down out by the PHOF per my understanding (though I could be wrong).

I was in Vegas for a conference in April and stopped by the Hall of Fame with a friend. We had an absolute blast for 3 hours before our flight home. It's a must-stop if you're visiting.

Cab situation is tough at the PHOF because it's pretty close to the airport. You CAN flag cabs in that area (you can't on the strip), but most cabs are driving by with passengers on their way to the airport. Calling is a good idea, but as RobertWinter mentioned, expect to wait 30 minutes or more for someone to show up.

We ended up hailing a super nice lady after about 10 minutes of standing next to the street with our luggage. There was a solo guy who had been wandering the PHOF most of the time we were there and he called a cab at the same time we were trying to flag one down on the street. He ended up hopping in with us. The lady had her taxi light off on a break and was on her way to get ice cream and saw us and stopped, so we lucked out. We bought her the ice cream

This is correct, confirmed by veteran driver to me last week, although standing out on Tropicana is not my idea of a good time, especially during the summer, hot months.

Tip: try 'Lucky Cab', they are a smaller company and a little more willing to please. Lucky was there in 20 minutes, and even called on the way to make sure I was still waiting on them.

Disclaimer: your mileage may vary, simply based on my experience.

Just strike up conversation with your cab driver on the trip out there and get their card. Tip well and ask if you can call them for a ride back. Works 100% of the time.

When I was there I just took the bus back (route 201) Runs every 12 minutes along Tropicana Blvd.
    Drops off by MGM.Only $2.00

Rent a car and go every day. Assume it was Tim I met there a few weeks ag, what a cool guy. Recommended I play darker games like he does, with a headlamp
