I'm stumped on this one.
There are 2 banks of 3 targets on the upper playfield. All switches have good contact and register with no issue. However, when you hit all of the targets down (not in order), the 2 banks won't reset.
If I touch each contact under the playfield, the 2 banks will reset. The issue only happens when the switches are held down by the targets. It also does not matter which target is hit last.
Can someone please tell me how to fix this?

Quoted from cody_chunn:

Do these targets have the horseshoe shaped wiper on the back of them?

No, I believe that's a earlier Williams design. This is a system 7.

Quoted from Slim64:

Does each target drop register on its own?

Yes, all targets do register. Except the last one. and it does not matter which one you choose to be the last target.

Quoted from BobLangelius:

Is this a new machine to you, or a new problem on a previously working machine?
If you reset both banks then drop both red targets (rightmost on each bank) do they reset?
does Each switch register in test mode when dropped?

Yes, if I hit red on one bank and red on the other, both banks reset.
All switches do register. It's just the last switch when you don't hit them in order.
Someone suggested that it might be due to an older rom in the game.
And yes, I recently aquared this game.

I ordered the most updated CPU Roms today. Hope this fixes the problem....
I did take a look at the sockets when I had the board out for the off-board battery change and everything looked fine.

Ok, I installed the newest CPU Roms today, but the issue remains the same.
Can someone please provide further direction?

Here is a pic of the driver board. Not sure which section are the wire links...

Fixed it!! Looks like my driver board is from an earlier williams system and it needs the jumper wires installed to work correctly with a system 7 game.
