I find the bend on the bracket it what is important. In the last picture in the thread you can see on the right side the bracket is bent forward to touch the mirror. It should be bent a bit more forward that is what prevents the bottom of the flap from going to far forward. The top hits the bracket, its kinda like a seesaw. If you bend the bracket right you can put a little extra wind in the spring or do whatever to push on the mirror because it cant go too far.
