Quoted from RudeDogg1:

So has anyone created a decal for the lower part of the playfield yet?

Hi rudedogg.....ive a restored one in clear as you know so if I get a bit of interest I could re create just the gold strip from it before i sell it..it would be months off and be a huge amount of work digitally re created it but it's a possibility

Quoted from slither:

This pic is from a previous post here, but im told his face and part of hat is actually an insert that flashes at times during gameplay.

Yes that's my playfield for sale thread...the phantom is screen printed onto a massive insert..no decal available, you would have to make your own

Also his bottom gold strip probably would be damaged and taking Mylar off the whole playfield will take off any gold areas

Quoted from slither:

wow, thanks for the reply, that kind of sucks , doesnt it...I forgot about it being sealed under mylar.

No worries, mines still for sale if u need one or have a crack at restoring yours

Quoted from slither:

I would get a new insert cut to size of course.

It's all possible yes,as stated it's the rest which he's not showing which is equally important.the whole playfield is mylared so be aware it took three tins of freeze spray to take off mine which at £18 a tin is expensive...plus the horrible thick glue took 3 hrs to get off at least taking more paint off plus the rest of the gold etc etc.....if you want to really tackle it and you know what your getting yourself in for and price is right then it's achievable but without stripping it all your still left with a hole in the centre playfield where you've cut the Mylar out and a decal which won't line up or be a great colour match..plus you will have to make an insert....if it's just a very cheap player your after then it may be worth it..hope this helps
