After the ninja's subtle slam on this pin.... Am I in the minority here and say I like this pin? I'm thinking about adding one to the collection next year, and wanted to hear from pinheads on the pros and cons of this title. I played this once at a pin show years back and thoroughly enjoyed it!

Also anybody know the going rate for one in *good* condition? Meaning full artwork on glass and plastics intact....

I dont think its that bad either, it plays really well. It just that annoying scream over and over that gets to me.
If you find one in good looking and playing shape you will probably have to pay $1200-$1500.

The problem with phantom is... There are alot of better machines in that price range, but it is a good pin, and does have fairly goodlooking artwork. I think a better playing and looking pin with fantastic artwork in that price range would be Williams Fire.

I don't know much about it, but I do remember seeing one and thinking that the art was excellent, one of my favorite looking especially in that price range!

Yes, I think the scream is annoying, but I do like playing it. It's different from the more modern games..... simpler. And the sound track is exceptionally good (except for the scream). It is actually a pretty easy game, so maybe that's a drawback. Problem is that it has the real mirror back glass (with the phantom mask). The plastics/decals are super expensive to replace from what I've seen, and you'll have to make the stickers for the spinners/flaps yourself. I think the Fire! machine is a beautiful art package also. Beautiful symmetrical playfield. But I guess I kinda like the Phantom for its spooky ambiance.

Yeah I'm not a fan of the screams and the whipping sound?

I am a big fan of the music and playfield art is absolutely beautiful! In fact, I like alot of the Data East pins from this era with the exception of BTTF-couldn't get into that one...

I know it's not the deepest game out there but sometimes I don't mind that.

I did contact 2 gentleman that had one for sale. Both see in pretty good condition, playfield and backglass. Just have to wait to pin funds to accumalate again!

Has ever a POTO NOS playfield ever surfaced? I know I was looking for a D.E. Batman for awhile with no luck.....
