Hello,

so i have a MB which will be my first restoration.

I will make new Cabinet Decals, new Plastics and new mechanics.

So the only thing i don't now what to do with the playfield.

I have three options:

1. Fix the both spots (Draclane, Creature hole) by a professional (about 335$ / 300€)

2. Buy a new highclasspinball playfield, sell the old (about 965$ / 865€ - old PF 390$ / 350€ --> effectiv: 575$/ 520€)

3. only clean pf and use a PF protector

------------------------------------------------------

1. option is less work and it will be original - but all is new and the playfield is fixed.

2. option it costs not so much more for a new pf (+ 240$ / 215€ to option 1) - but it will be not a original pf and is more work to do the pf swap.

3. option is very cheap and maybe ok?

For all three options i would use a pf protector!

What would you do?

Option 4 - clean and wax thoroughly to protect.
If not, then Option 3.

Don't forget the final step in any case, Play and Enjoy!

Quoted from RCA1:

Option 4 - clean and wax thoroughly to protect.

Agreed here. If this is a game in your house, keeping it cleaned and wax you shouldn't have any problems with it.

Thank you for your input!
Then i only have to read a guide for "perfect playfield cleaning" and will maybe buy a protector and will restore the cabinet + some plastics.

I'm have to chop it and then i will decide what will better... But save some bugs and have the same fun sounds not bad

I would check how the drac lane is: when the ball rolls beside Frank, does the ball bounce at the drac lane?
I believe it would not bounce with a new playfield, but it might do it with old, warped playfields.
There is a bracket that adjusts warped playfields and it is located at the start of the drac lane under the playfied,
but it might not be enough to adjust the upper and lower parts of the playfield at the end of the drac lane.
If the drac lane is fine for playability, I would just clean and wax the playfield. If the playfield is warped and
the bracket does not help, I would get a repro playfield - I believe warped playfields are very difficult to be fixed.
