Quoted from ASOA:Stern knows what we want. However if you were in the market to sell thousands of units globally you might want to think through the PG to R rating. For us that would be a huge win. Total no brainer. However if you are trying to get into different family locations / gamerooms and other countries around the world you need to go with PG rating. Unfortunately even if you have the settings inside of the machine to turn on and off most locations would not purchase the pin. If it has the content from factory it will get labeled with that rating. Fortunately we have certain people in this community that can fix said issue. The pin is good now. It will be great once it is tweaked.
This is exactly why it took Ryan Reynolds 11 years and 47 rejection letters to get the movie made. We all now how that turned out. This whole “what about the children” defence is laughable. The whole I’m offended by everything crowd is the very vocal minority, for every sale you lose to one of them you gain 5. It’s like when Vegas tried to go family friendly, it was a disaster, now it’s back to what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas and business is booming. Pinball has a little bit of an edge and stigma right from the start. It’s exactly why they still selling AC/DCs. Remember all the it has too much about Hell and Luci is offensive, how many of those did they sell? The math and market doesn’t lie. This is the one area Stern is failing to improve they just can not get theme and market in line.
