Quoted from halpain24:

My request would be to add music from the two movies still. I agree on Nolan’s voice from the game. There’s some great R rated quotes in the game.

The music from the movies was great very playful and amusing during some of the crazier scenes, love that motorway scene especially.

Quoted from cleland:

Just a heads-up I am aware of this and waiting for Code to be posted to go through the callouts. I do think the video game is the best source of some R rated sound bytes though. I don't think the movies match well with the game unfortunately, which is too bad as I've only seen the movies and not played the video game or seen the animated movies. Guess I have some watching to do!

Thank you for making these games better!

I watched Deadpool 2 last night, and just about everything is rude, crude, and funny as hell. Really made me wonder WTF Stern was thinking taking this theme and making it the opposite of what everyone knows the character to be? Everyone keeps talking about the comics, yet no one I know has ever seen or read a deadpool comic. And I believe the comics are rawer that what's given in the game.

They could have made this table ANY superhero, there's nothing "Deadpool" about it! That's the sad part of this whole thing. You could plug in ANY superhero into this with the same call-outs (Batman has this kind of Kiddie humor sometimes). I really don't know of any other Superhero that shares the same unique humor and theme as Deadpool, that's what makes him special IMO.

"Hey Sabretooth, go brush your Saberteeth". Even my 10-year old thinks that is cheesy.

I wouldn’t get too worked up or disappointed luckily Stern went with Nolan North as the voice actor for Deadpool and he has a lot of material/voice over work out there for Deadpool, doubt it would take much to drop in “hey sabretooth, go f**k yourself” if you really wanted to

Trust in CLELAND, he will do it right!

Quoted from lpeters82:

What's the deal with Little Deadpool? I don't remember him from any comics, yet he's used in both the Zen and Stern versions of the game.

Stern knows what we want. However if you were in the market to sell thousands of units globally you might want to think through the PG to R rating. For us that would be a huge win. Total no brainer. However if you are trying to get into different family locations / gamerooms and other countries around the world you need to go with PG rating. Unfortunately even if you have the settings inside of the machine to turn on and off most locations would not purchase the pin. If it has the content from factory it will get labeled with that rating. Fortunately we have certain people in this community that can fix said issue. The pin is good now. It will be great once it is tweaked.

This is exactly why it took Ryan Reynolds 11 years and 47 rejection letters to get the movie made. We all now how that turned out. This whole “what about the children” defence is laughable. The whole I’m offended by everything crowd is the very vocal minority, for every sale you lose to one of them you gain 5. It’s like when Vegas tried to go family friendly, it was a disaster, now it’s back to what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas and business is booming. Pinball has a little bit of an edge and stigma right from the start. It’s exactly why they still selling AC/DCs. Remember all the it has too much about Hell and Luci is offensive, how many of those did they sell? The math and market doesn’t lie. This is the one area Stern is failing to improve they just can not get theme and market in line.

Not exactly sure I see the comparison? Vegas is a promotion of strippers, prostitution, drinking, and gambling. Stern sells Toys that are focused on Removing the once attached legal and stigma of gambling device? I kind of see the AC/DC point though I have personally never seen a Lucy at the local movie theater or arcade. AC/DC yes, Lucy not so much. I like Vegas for what it is and enjoy all it offers but I’m not stupid enough to bring my children there especially after hours when the porn soliciting starts. Lol

The point is not that long ago Vegas tried to be all family friendly and it was a disaster. The people going to Vegas don’t want family friendly. Just like the people that made Deadpool a monster hit don’t want family friendly. Know your market and make your product on brand. Stern just keeps making these really obvious errors. Where was the adventure on Star Wars, they went with hardcore tournament, multiplier heavy gameplay on the biggest family friendly franchise. Where was the soundtrack and mixed tape on a Guardians? Now we get Saturday morning cartoon Deadpool and it has the mix tape? It feels like we are being punked. Up next is The Munsters, what year is it again. Could be The Beatles anyone ask Harmonixs how that Beatles licensed turned out? Maybe they will do rated G Pulp Fiction. Superman 1978 and this is probably the one that will turn out the best.

Thus my 100% comfort in waiting and buying one down the road(just like I am going to do on GOTG)

#112 5 years ago

Yeah I look forward to getting a few dozen games on it and see what near 1.0 code looks like before I make the final decision, but it's looking great so far. Just like with Guardians I haven't seen anything turn me off yet.

Count me in for wanting an Adult mode for callouts. I am close to buying one so I had my wife check it out somewhere today. She liked the PF and cabinet art, but when we played it her first reaction was, "The audio is so PG!?!"

LOL

#114 5 years ago
Quoted from jgentry:

Stern makes a game, you get to decide if you want to buy it or not. Nothings going to change. Don't like it, don't buy it.

Doesn't seem to be how it works on other pins..j/s.

I played it and thought this isn't deadpool, this is watered down hanna barbera nonsense. The comics are not pg, nor was the movie. They missed the mark on this one. It has been proven over and over don't water down the source material or the people who you are actually marketing to won't want it.

Every time you drain the ball yell "F*CK". That's what I do, makes it less PG.

That's a given, all of my games are PG13 because of that. But Deadpool's source material is more R rated...

The Deadpool movie is R-rated. The Deadpool comics can range from PG to adult, depending on the series. In this particular case, the licensor wanted to keep it PG, so Stern did. If dirty jokes and sexual innuendo are a make/break thing for you with the theme, then definitely look elsewhere.

#118 5 years ago

My family and guests rather enjoy the humor of this pin. In a sad way I actually enjoy tilting the game just to hear the funny call outs lol.

Where did I say it was a make/break thing for me? All I said was my wife commented that the callouts were PG and to count me in for an adult theme mod.
(Hopefully by Cleland.)

So what other games have dirty jokes, sexual innuendo and harsh language?

I loved the movies but a PG Dead Pool game keeps me from buying it.

Family Guy.

Not gonna happen. This pin is based off the Comic. See X-Force!

Deadpool was not R rated till recent Ryan Reynolds movies.

That's why I had the "If" at the start of the sentence. I personally think people are way too hung up on the whole adult mode thing.

Yeah, for people who were wanting a movie based Deadpool pin, I get it. It isn't based on the movie. What I don't get is people wanting to jam Deadpool movie lines into a pinball machine that is not based at all on the movie. Not sure what it would add. To each their own though.

As for other machines, maybe Playboy/Scared Stiff for innuendo, Sopranos has a nice f-bomb mode iirc if people really need to hear their pinball machines swear at them.

How about just replacing the really stupid call-outs (for example, "hey sabretooth, go brush your sabre teeth") with a nice one-line zinger from one of the deadpool movies? Of course you're not going to replace the game specific stuff that doesn't translate (like the choose your battle stuff, etc.) But I still think there's a lot of improvement that could be done.

#126 5 years ago

They are releasing a version of Deadpool 2 that has a PG-13 rating, with what I think is a neat christmas twist.

This will get me to go see it again.

Right,...... Family Guy. I guess that's why I bought Family Guy NIB and I still have it in my collection . I love the call outs, the whole theme and I'm a fan of the show.

I would go out and buy a Dead Pool LE tomorrow if it had the full on movie adult content complete with bad language and sexual innuendo.

Ahhhh, if only.

With my own Deadpool now finally being on route - is there any update on this?
I think there's so much interest, it would be a shame if cleland didn't do the extra treatment on this!

I’ll chime in for the seeming minority and say that I’m happy there isn’t any degraded crap in this pin because it means I can potentially consider it as a family pin. I don’t really care if it’s true to the source material in that regards.

And it’s an Awesome game even without cussing at you.
