In other banking systems... the bank account number is not some secret like they try to keep it here. It's shared freely as an address where to send money.

From how money is exchanged via EFT like transactions... to how POS purchases are secured. We are like 10 years behind.

Its dumb.. basically the way the accounts are secured is different.
Remember, in other countries they aren't as paranoid about having a national ID number per user, etc
