Quoted from mof:
I'd like to know about a few EM firsts:
1. first inlanes?
2. first 3" flippers?
3. first spinner?
4. first horeshoe?
According the the IPDB:
1.(1965) 'Bank-A-Ball' was the first pinball machine produced with flipper return lanes, which are wireforms that allow the ball to roll behind the slingshot and towards a waiting flipper. According to the book All About Pinball, Paradise and its add-a-ball version Pleasure Isle were the first games designed to have return lanes. However, Gottlieb rescheduled the production of Bank-A-Ball so that it could be released first.
2. (1971 "Play Ball") First Gottlieb game to use 3 inch flippers bats.
3. (1963 "Swing Along") According to the flyer, this was the first machine to feature spinning targets.
Not according to the IPDB:
4. My best guess is that it was worn by the first "hore".
