Anyone ever used the Periscope app to live stream pinball?
For those unfamiliar with the app, it allows you to stream/view from your phone and viewers can comment. I’m sure there is more to it but that is what I have gathered so far.
I just downloaded it and it seems super easy to use. My first thought was I could live stream a tourney or league night by simply placing the phone in my shirt pocket. It would be like watching from my perspective, interacting with people, chatting strategy, and actual gameplay. I like the idea because literally anyone can use this from around the world. No experience necessary and no setup, tear down, hauling equipment, its literally just your phone.
You can do a search within the app such as “pinball” and all live feeds that hit on the search will come up. It would be cool if a bunch of people starting using the app. You could just tune into league nights, tournys, festivals/expo. I think it would be cool if several people were streaming the same event from different perspectives so you could jump around to different views.
We are always looking for different ways to spread pinball to outsiders and this may help. I think it is great that there are so many live streaming sites today, but this seems much easier and as I have stated, anyone can do this. All you need is a smart phone. I suggest downloading it and checking it out, if you don’t like it just delete it.
Thoughts on this?
