I think a lot of things are at play now, which is creating a shortage of willing workers. List of things impacting this in no particular order.

1. Covid.....mask and/or vaccine mandates
2. Unemployment pay
3. "Free" government money during covid
4. Internet/social media.....easier then ever to
sell/flip items or become a social media star.
and survive.
5. Covid as a whole......made people reevaluate
their lives and what's important.
6. F.I.R.E. movement.....look it up. More and
more people retiring early. More and more
people are saving at greater rates to leave the
workforce much earlier than we have been
trained to think we can.
7. Lack of work ethic. This is huge and I think it
ties into the instant gratification theory. Also
people want paid well without ever proving
themselves.
