I have a Stern machine with rails that I wish to replace. The old rails have a PEM stud on each one, covered by the lockdown bar. From what I understand the PEM Stud is pressed into the steel rail at the factory. Has anyone removed and old PEM stud from an old rail and then re-used and re-installed the PEM studs with a new rail, or is there a better way to skip the PEM stud altogther, perhaps using a flatter head bolt, etc.
