I do that, but it doesn't help, because I put the spares away and either forget I have them until I order more (often), or I know I have them, but I can't find them (even oftener).
It doesn't help that I have parts cabinets and drawers and labeled, indexed, storage bins, with bins inside. Same thing happens with tools... have tool box, the tools are sorted in the drawers. Can't find them when needed, or the particular wrench/socket isn't there.
