    My guess, paypal could still come back if there is a CC chargeback, or a filed complaint from the buyer, regardless of the unlinked account or draining the cash right away.

    Check could have a stop payment. I would think a wire transfer would be the safest, but not sure... usually they check to ensure funds are available prior to the transfer so atleast you would have that assurance.
