PatZ is the only michigan show that I'm a paid supporter of as well
I heard the guy that runs that [other] show is kind of mean and yells at all of the workers all the time

Keep in mind he has never cut their salaries either...
Is an "open house" considered a show? In other words if I were to open up my collection to others to come play my games then is that a "show", or "open house" or is it a "party"? If people are not required to bring games or be a vendor to make the event what it is then what is it?
John

Isn't it a cookie tasting event that happens to have pinball machines?
Quoted from Agent_Hero:Isn't it a cookie tasting event that happens to have pinball machines?
Only if we sell them milk to go with the cookies.
John
Quoted from yancy:Give 'em cookies, SELL the milk. Nice racket.
Exactly what Red Lion hotels used to do when they were high-end.
all the michigan shows have people that bring games. and all the michigan shows have vendors too. and none of the michigan shows are at anyone's home. and all the michigan shows charge an entrance fee (unless you bring a game or are a vendor.)
Quoted from Dayhuff:Hmm....didn't realize there was more than one show currently in Michigan.
John
Yeah we have more than one a year.
Vendor space this year (2019) was sold out at the VFW.
(and there's no charge to be a vendor either.)

Your open houses are amazing. When do you think you will throw another one? It's been a while since I visited B.C.!

The Annual Party is always the first Saturday in November. Don't even want to think about it this early...., it's summer fun time right now...LOL.

Ok it's on my calendar now thanks. You just called it a party though. So which is it? An open house or a party?

A fantastic open house party pot luck.

It's 12 hours of pinball party at his open house. Settled.
I've missed the last few years, think I will do the same and request off work early this year so I can attend the Dayhuff annual again. Need to get me some time on King Kong.
I'm looking forward to the next PATZ show and hope the vendors all show up again and people bring out their spare parts. I picked up some spare as-is boards from Dayhuff and have been going through them in my spare time. Rebuilt a couple lamp driver boards and am working on a power board and MPU next. I've attached a picture of the worst one (an old STERN lamp driver) that I finished and verified in my Elektra. It cleaned up well. Before and after pictures are shown below.
Has an official 2020 date been set? I googled , but get conflicting dates.... Like to plan ahead. Thanks.

Seconded!
Convention center calendar says April 16 - 18, 2020. Thursday thru Sat. The sites with the 25th to 27th are 2019 (and that will be Sat thru Mon in 2020 - NOT the usual.)

Got it. Thank you!
PM harmon1728. He runs the show. Alert him to the confusion and early interest in the show. See you all there!

Website has been updated and matches the fairgrounds calendar now. April 16-18 is correct.
VFW show is the following weekend.
Busy April!
Quoted from Dayhuff:Man this really sucks, same dates at the Ohio show. I can't do both on the same weekend.
The choice is obvious.....KZoo!

This has been a real frustrating thing for me as well. I’ve been assured, next year will be different. So should be a one year problem. I NEVER want to conflict with anything and work hard not to. Unfortunately we announced our dates first.
I sure hope you come to PATZ, I couldn’t imagine running it without having you be a part of it!!! Let me know if there is anything I can do to make your decision!

Hey if John doesn't show up to PATZ well we all know where he lives. hehe
Is there going to be a PATZ 2020 forum page or is this one going to be modified? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?
FYI- original Ohio show NOW moved there dates so its not on zoo dates so Jon you better be at zoo ..lol
Quoted from TheLaw:Already got my hotel room
Me too. Good rates right now. I was late last year and rates had almost doubled and/or sold out. Ended up commuting all three days.
Quoted from Dayhuff:Somebody start a new thread already..........
John
I somehow missed all the action on this topic, sorry guys! But like I said on the new thread (thanks again J.m.) we’re actually having a meeting tonight and lots more will get updated in the next few day. We’re both very excited for this year!!!
I should know this...
Who was the company that is developing a new pinball machine?
...they exhibited at PATZ in 2019...
I think they were based in Michigan, kind of alien/monsters/paranormal theme?
Cool black and white art?
I should know this...google isn't telling me anything...
