    Quoted from KingBW:

One request for the people putting on the show next year. Please post a sign of requesting pinball etiquette at or near the entrance that includes playing one game per player at a time. There were a handful of people playing 3 or 4 player games that "likely" knew better and kept seeing them do it. We would mention rather loudly behind them that it wasn't proper etiquette, but I think they didn't care. If they didn't know, they probably thought that we were just complainers. If we have a "show etiquette" sign to reference so that we have something to back us up when confronting them, that would help us out to police others. They post a sign at the front door of the VFW show and have people patrolling to also keep an eye on that and that seems to work out well. I think a few people came in from the other shows out of curiosity also and likely don't know that etiquette. Just a suggestion to help avoid conflict. Thanks!

Yeah, you can try, but some people just don't care. Particularly little kids who just don't pay attention.
I think I finished more abandoned games than I started on my own.
At one point I finished a four player game on DE Star Wars that was abandoned on Player 1, ball 2.
BTW, thanks to whoever brought that, it's a great game.
(Yes, I know you can turn the game off and back on to start over, but seemed easier to just finish the games.)

Man, that show was FUN!! I'm still in such a great mood. Probably my favorite pinball show experience ever. PATZ is just the friendliest show around.

Yeah, I had a blast with GOTG. What a cool game that's turned into. Even better than the game itself though was the opportunity to play it (and other games) with friends who actually "get" pinball. My people!!

Let's make next year even better!

Could this charge from the weekend while at PATZ mean something? And to boot the only reason I normally go to McDonald's is for iced tea.

Mmmmm, maybe. What else did you do on the trip?

I did speak with someone I used to work with in Grand Rapids, but I don't think that had anything to do with it.

I had an amazing time- thank you to the Harmons and everyone who worked/volunteered to make the show run as well as it did!

I finally picked my first EM- Blue Chip !

Glad it went to a good home! Thanks to Underspin for the delivery and helping me get it last year!

Thanks to all responsible for putting on this event!
    Can't wait for next year!
I will spend the night and attend Saturday as well!

Got out for the day on Friday. First time in 7-8 years that I haven't brought a game. I think, barring the 30 or so games that I put on Free Fall, that I didn't play more than about 10-12 games. Managed to get my initials on Houdini late Friday, but that was the only recent game that I played.

Thanks to all involved, especially those who brought games to play.

    #310 6 years ago

Thanks for the good notes everyone. I was a bit worried about NF as I think the jump ramp needs some reinforcement. It survived and I saw people hitting 5+ jumps.
No one managed to GC Demolition Man either. I haven't since putting a new CPU in.

My wife and I just wanted to take an opportunity to thank everyone who stopped by our booth to either purchase a product and/or simply to say hello. We had an amazing time playing in the tournaments, spending time talking with everyone... and we are already excited for the PatZ 2019 Show... can’t wait!

FYI: We had 338 plays on our Walking Dead. Next year we hope to bring a few more pins to share with everyone.

    Thanks again,
    David and Leeann

    Quoted from RyanClaytor:

Also have to send out big shouts to Scott for bringing his Rockola "World Series":

And what were the two Gottlieb pins that were next to the World Series? The owner (I assume Scott) gave a wonderful overview of all three to my daughter and me Saturday afternoon and although we played and enjoyed several games on them we can’t remember their names.

I searched some of the photos posted here, but only saw one that included them and the names can’t be read.

Thanks to anyone with a better memory!

The color DMD really looked good in that one. Somehow it makes it better, even though it has nothing to do with the ball on the playfield. Thanks for bringing it.

+1 to the above comment. Thanks for bringing WD to play. Always a fun game. I miss mine.

I also will try to bring more games next year. Want to bring the 8BD, a Williams Contact I’m working on and perhaps a Pharaoh and Firepower both installed with Hardtops (Firepower HT in production)

Another thanks to the Harmons who bust their butts to put on a good show for us. Alex in particular did a nice job taking some of the responsibilities.

And a final thanks to the Schudel family for the after parties. An amazing collection over there.

That kinda drives me nuts. That's why my game are set so you can pop the coin door and the game will slam tilt-much easier than playing off all them balls. ...More so since DE Star Wars has ball saver! Hopefully this year I can finally shop it out and maybe get it in color! But with the projects I've picked up at the kzoo, we'll see how it goes!
Yup, da zoo is my fav show as well!

Hey everyone! First off I just have to say thanks to all of you. This was the best show yet in my opinion. I appreciate all the kind words on here but I know damn well it wasn't me that made this show great. It was all of YOU. Whether you came with a game/games or just came to the show, all of you are what makes this show what it is. The community around this show continues to amaze me. I met a lot of you and made some new friends. I hope this continues as it's something I always look forward to at PATZ. Also, thanks to Kevin for building this thing 19 years ago. It's going to be fun next year having the 20th anniversary!

The highlight for me was getting this award from Rob Anthony for our Iron Maiden. What he didn't know is that I rushed to set it up Saturday morning while trying to do 12 different things for the show/tournament. It then had a couple issues that required my dad to take time to fix it as well. To get this award was something we both appreciated greatly and it will be proudly displayed. Thank you Rob!

    I miss Taro.

Was completely heartbroken to hear that news.

Games in Tournament Play are an area of confusion for new attendees at PATZ. Many people who never participated in a pinball tournament or a pinball showcase were a tournament was being played don't understand how this works.
You pay for the number of games you want to play, and then are supposed to get in line by requesting a number from a referee (someone with a tablet) and waiting for your turn, and then play only one game at a time. Nobody explains this to you or asks if you understand the rules when you pay to play a game in tournament. This doesn't mean the person was being selfish, just a newb.

    Quoted from RyanClaytor:

    Melody was one of them—thanks!

But I don’t think the other was Magic City. The machine in question had two sets of flipper at the bottom. It also had four differently colored pop bumpers that changed point value (1 pt when color was lit and 32 pts would give a credit) and four differently colored holes down the middle that when filled with a ball light a color (and could be all filled with balls to win a credit). Fun game...

Ah! Okay, okay...you're talking about one of the wood rails. Pretty sure you're describing the 1952 Gottlieb "Four Stars":

Thank you for everyone bringing these fine games and the judges for selecting these fine games that didn't look like clown puked nightmares.

    #334 5 years ago

So many nice games this year. How did I not play that Big Casino? Argh, idiot.

    #335 5 years ago

Game quality was way up in the free play area. Best part of the show.

    Quoted from GravitaR:

Absolutely! I'd say that this was 100% accurate. There were multiples of some popular games to play. If you wanted to play Iron Maiden, you could (maybe a little wait). Dailed In? Yep. Walking Dead? YES!

Kevin had me get an estimate of games on the floor Friday night. I counted almost 100 working games NOT INCLUDING the tournament games. Thanks to all who brought them - I know how much time/effort it takes to bring them and then let people play them. Thanks again!

That game was great. Love the old school stuff.
First game, my score after the first ball was 11. It got better from there, but it pretty much had to.

I've got to say that I think this was the best one yet - thanks to all involved. Special shoot out to Prison City Pinball League for spare rubber and installation on IJ, Dayhuff for hooking me up with a needed rubber, Dane for talking me into bringing IJ, Matt for helping support the machine while I got the legs on it, Rock for keeping an eye on the machine, Mr SodaPop for being the key master, Schudel for the great after party and all those that brought games.

    Looking forward to next year.
