    Greetings!

Kevin asked me to start the thread for Pinball at the Zoo (PATZ)! I am lucky to live close to Kalamazoo, Michigan for a great weekend of classic gaming!

    Get lots of info here:

    http://www.pinballatthezoo.com

    But here are the highlights:

    HOURS
    2:00 PM Thursday - 10:00 PM Thursday
    1:00 PM Friday - 10:00 PM Friday
    9:00 AM Saturday - 6:00 PM Saturday

    COST
    Adults $15.00 per day
    Kids 5-13 $8.00 per day
    Kids 4 and under Free

If you bring a game to put on the floor for others to play, you will get a free t-shirt that proudly proclaims that "I shared my game at Pinball at the Zoo" and you get a free soda from Mr. Soda Pop. (Shirts limited to first 50 people who share bring a video game or pinball machine)

There will be tournaments galore and you can find that info here:

    https://www.facebook.com/events/352641538442084/

Thanks to Alex Harmon who does a great job!

Last, but not least, we will have the no-fee auction on Saturday afternoon starting at 3pm. There are always great deals to be had! With auction-master John Dayhuff at the microphone, it's a fun and exciting time to see what goes on sale and what goes home.

    Quoted from Newport-Bill:

John was thinking about your backglass statement. Would it be worth bringing a list of what you have the first day then if people want one on the list that you didn't have in the booth you could always then bring it the next day? Just a thought.

To add to that, I would love to help catalog what you have. Working together, we could make a nice spreadsheet or Google doc based on what you have, how much you want and what you want to bring. If you are game, we'll find some time after my kids go to bed and then we can get to work.

Just updated the thread pic thanks to the fine work of Brad Czernik. Feel free to use that image to help spread the word. I will post a Craigslist ad as the date crawls near.

In response to an earlier question, how about we post about games coming to the show (or games you want to come to the show) here in this thread. That way, we can keep it all centralized. Now having said that, I am not against "Welcome to Club Michigan" or the "What's for Sale in MI" threads either since the more publicity the better!

    Quoted from klassicarcade:

We are looking for someone to run the Youth Tournament at Pinball at the 'Zoo, Anyone interested in running this event?

    Underspin?

What kind of time commitment is needed? Would be easier to see if feasible if we could see what is needed.

Will be bringing a Neo Geo 4 Slot, Centipede Cocktail and probably my F14 Tomcat for the main area. Not sure if selling them (probably have high prices if I do).

Might be motivated so sell for the following: Radical, NGG, JP.

Will always be looking for a good EM pin to buy.

I went to John Dayhuff's house and we went through his backglasses. Here is a list of what he has. Tell us in this thread what you want him to bring and he will see you at the show.

We rated the backglasses in three different conditions. "Excellent" is self explanatory. "Good" is passable, but will have some flaking and will be far from perfect. "WALL" means that you would probably wall-hang it, but you wouldn't want to put it in the pin. "Wall" glasses may have large parts of the art missing or removed.

He also has arcade video game glasses that would go around the monitor to a video game.

Thanks for looking and we will see you at PATZ!

    Quoted from KingBW:

Star Wars Translite - How much? ... interested.

Should also mention that John has a "Star Wars Trilogy" translite too. He will bring it along, I bet.

    Quoted from jellikit:

I agree about the perfect dozen. I always grab some to bring home in case anyone from our household didn't join us at the show and to enjoy later. I love maple donuts... mmmmm...
    Brad

Reeses Peanut Butter doughnuts are great. Chocolate cake base, peanut butter smashed into the center and then chocolate drizzled on top. I have have about 2 and then I get an amazing sugar rush.

Be on the lookout for this character. He goes by the name of Don Jayhuff! (photo courtesy of Kevin Ketchum).

One week away! It's going to be great!

A week from right now, I know I will be DEAD tired from 3 days of PATZ, but I am looking forward to what comes into my basement.

I am bringing: Neo Geo 4-slot (yeah, it's a vid, but I need room for more pins) and my F14 Tomcat.

I'll have photos from all 3 days to post here each night and results from Saturday's auction.

See you all in UNDER A WEEK!

    #245 7 years ago

    Twas the night before PATZ...

Bringing F14 Tomcat and my Neo Geo. Both for sale or trade! Looking forward to 3 days of fun!

More pictures from day 1 of PATZ. I didn't get to many of the vendors - I will try to get them tomorrow during the day. These pics were taken late in the evening.

    See you all on Friday!

    Quoted from KingBW:

Never been to PATZ. Are there signs showing where to go when we get there?
Is AS only in the tournament, or is it in the free play area?

The AS is only in the tournament section. Getting around PATZ is very easy once you arrive. The main entrance to the convention center will have signs. Hope you can come over and play!

    Quoted from Whysnow:

hard to tell from photos, is it a light turn out this year?

I thought it was a good crowd like the past few years. I don't like taking pics of people that I know I am going to put online so I crop into the pins really tight.

Having the big space also means we can spread out and not feel crammed.
