He sums it up pretty well about JJP and what they are doing. This is such an exciting time to be in this hobby!

"I'm going to be doing an original theme and pinball machine for JJP. Its very exciting to be able to work with JJP and one of the reasons that I'm excited to be doing that is JJP has redefined the limits of pinball. They have changed the technology, they have made the games bigger, bolder, brighter and its going to be a wonderful experience and challenge building an original game with them..."

Awesome news! Glad to hear that Pat is back!

nice promo piece/announcement. great to see Pat Lawlor back designing games. Must have been a pretty compelling offer to get him - looking forward to seeing what he designs.

    #4 10 years ago

    Pat Lawlor for President !

    #5 10 years ago

Well. The background music was pretty epic.

Cool to see an original theme though, looking forward to it.

Lawlor is a great ambassador for pinball and I can't wait to see what he does. So glad he is back in the game.

    #7 10 years ago

Good to see. I hope he does well with them.

    #8 10 years ago

He looks like my uncle Louie... Probably about the same age.

    Go get 'em, Pat!

    #9 10 years ago

A buddy just texted me and wondered when Pat's Iranian captors were going to release him.

    #11 10 years ago

Here's hoping he knocks it out of the park.

    #12 10 years ago

I just wonder how much he's gonna have ta "butt heads" with the budget people over his design. Hope it's not another 8-9k pin.

    #13 10 years ago

    Hope it is demolition derby!

    #14 10 years ago

Love that intro on the video, giant text popping out of the screen "PAT:.. LAW.. LOR!!!!"

Stern's marketing could learn a thing or two

    #15 10 years ago

    Looks like a hostage video.....

    Awesome designer BTW.

lol, Stern's marketing team has their designers on camera, professionally lit, saying their lines while looking straight into the camera, and looking excited to be there. So ... no, I don't think so.

    #17 10 years ago

Can't wait to see what Pat comes up with.. Great news!

Pat's going to make the coolest game ever built.

It will make Tron LE feel like a zizzle table-top.

Lawlor's made two good games: RBION & TAF. Everything else is meh or worse.

Tron is superior to everything Lawlor has ever done.

Is that unusual? I didn't think anybody on this forum actually played pinball. My mistake. I must be in the wrong place.

Nah, man. They are Libyan nationalists. They wanted Jack and Pat to make bombs with their plutonium. They are actually going to go back in time to buy up all of the "A" list pins and come back flipping them.

    jarjar,

This isn't the witty jarjar we usually see here on Pinside. What's up?
Too many days of overcast skies this winter? Bumped your head recently?

Edit: I'm excited about this great Lawlor/JJP news!

I always laugh about this line....

Of course they can't do 90, they're in a Volkswagen bus... they could barely do 50... lol

We need a return of the epic Lawlor stache.

Thanks for posting the list. At first I was worried I overlooked something, but seeing the list of games he designed confirms my previous statement.

Well if you have nothing positive or constructive to add to the discussion, why did you enter the thread?

    Quoted from Crash:

Well if you have nothing positive or constructive to add to the discussion, why did you enter the thread?

Because I wanted to find out what Lawlor had to say about joining JJP. Didn't realize this was a fellate Jack and Pat thread. My apologies.

    #40 10 years ago

Have to say this pleases me immensely.

    Quoted from jarjarisgod:

That is only with the LE model. You will have to pay extra, the man is a legend so you cant expect that to be the standard price of admission...

    #42 10 years ago

Great news! So glad to have Pat back in the game...

    Quoted from Whysnow:

Well, in that case, I hope they limit the LEs to a manageable number for Pat and Jack's sake.

    #44 10 years ago

wait a sec, you are telling me there is a limit to the number of times a man can be fellated???

    #45 10 years ago
    Quoted from Whysnow:

No theoretical limit, but these guys aren't getting any younger. I suppose at the rate JJP ships games there would be no concerns about them having to deliver too many times each day.

Stern's marketing team filmed a moody promo for TF that included a tease of a transforming toy. Yay for Stern's marketing team.

Can we just be elated with the good news and leave it at that?

    #48 10 years ago
    Quoted from MustangPaul:

Hope it's not another 8-9k pin.

Why would it be any less? In fact, I'd be absolutely shocked if it were any cheaper than $9k. (Especially after its been proven that $8k is easy to get on the mere announcement of a new machine -- whether it actually exists or not.)

Its been more than a couple days since $8k became the standard, so surely it's time to test the boundaries again and see how far pinheads will go.

    Sorry Jar…….Tron BLOWS! Can't lick PL's balls……..

I thought this Pro-Pinball intro with Pat was a really clever way of handling an announcement - too bad that incarnation of the Kickstarter failed.

Pat shows up at about the 2-min mark. Youssi does a drive-by too (literally).
