I'm working on a pat hand and have two problems I can't figure out. The first is with the bonus unit, it was jammed up and giving to many points because it would not step down right. I fixed that and got it work smoothly in both directions but now it won't score any points. The second problem is the special relay will not trip when it is supposed to. After completing the ace, king, queen, jack, 10 the first time it lights the top rollovers. the second time the double bonus but the third time it won't trip the special relay. Any help anyone. Thanks Bill

I have a lot of hours on Pat Hand, that was the machine my dad had growing up (and still has and is the reason I got into pinball this year, after playing it at their lake house all summer).

I don't have any good advice, and I am sure you know all of this already. I have seen the bonus rollovers not react quickly enough to pick up all of the rollovers on a single shot (right flipper rolled up the upper left flipper and along all of the advance bonus rollovers(which is also the most satisfying shot on the machine)) and also while it is probably cool to light the 'specials' on the third time through the cards, in reality the special is just free games and no points, and since it is set to free play I am sure, it doesn't add anything to the game.

So, if you can correct problem #1, then #2 I might leave be -- it'll stop you from attacking the top center targets for the special and then losing a good ball SDTM because you saw the special light light up!

Looks like you got some real advice above me. I'm just always excited when Pat Hand gets brought up.

I finally got around to looking at the special issue again and found a contact on the leaf switch at score motor 1A was missing. I found an old switch put the new piece on and everything is fine. Thanks for the input everyone.
