Bringing a Paragon back to life. Getting 4 flashes on the Alltek MPU. Voltages on SDB and MPU test points are correct. I removed all the MPU connectors but the J4. Then I had 7 flashes and was able to go into test mode. Plugged each other connector back in and the problem is in the J2 connector. Schematic shows that's the PF switches.

Ideas anyone?

Playfield wiring short. look over the playfield wiring carefully. It's a long shot but check the slingshot assemblies (or the other metal assemblies) and make sure one did not come loose and is touching the switch wires. If you can't find anything remove the wires one by on from the connector and place them back in one at a time until the game stops booting. Then you'll have it narrowed down.

Good call. That's a connector I hadn't re-pinned yet so I re-pinned and tested it one wire at a time. 3rd wire White/yellow trace switch return #3 was the culprit. Re-pinned the rest restarting after each wire. Checking all the switches now via the switch matrix.

Fixed! A lamp socket was touching a roll over switch.
