Weird issue with my paragon. I just finished a 4 player game with the kids (the machine was playing perfect) and I was about to turn off the machine when I heard a quiet click (not a pop, or a crack) and all the displays went out as well as the insert lights. Only the back box and GI lights worked, plus the star rollovers and one spinner light. I also couldn’t start a game, pressing the start button did nothing. I turned off the game and turned it back on. The targets didn’t reset and I got 1 flash, a pause, and 5 more flashes (6 total) on the MPU board. I have an aftermarket alltek solenoid driver board that has LED indicator lights for 12v, 5v, and 43v. The 12v and 5v leds both light up, but no light for 43v.
I then checked all the fuses on the bridge rectifier board. The F4 5a SB fuse was blown and I found a 6a SB fuse on F6 (it's supposed to be a 3a fuse.) All other fuses on the bridge rectifier board were correct size and tested good. I replaced the F4 fuse and put a SB 250v 3a fuse in F6 and powered on the machine and the F6 fuse blew immediately and all the lights went out completely. So now with F6 blown the machine doesn't do anything at all when I try to power it on.
The fuse holder clips all look pretty crusty on the bridge rectifier board, so I’ll start there and replace the fuse holder clips. Anything else obvious I should be looking at to start with? I’m still fairly new at troubleshooting these issues, but I know enough to be a bit dangerous so I don’t want to go any further in risk of making things worse.
