=================FREE ALERT================

Ok gents ... FREE to a club member in need. I have a Paragon backglass that's pretty ugly up close (seriously bubbled with touch-ups and fade, but looks decent once lit up. Pickup only in Northern NJ ... sorry, just can't swing the time, hassle or risk to ship this.

Here's a far-away shot ... sorry, it's all I have.

EDIT ... correction, forgot I took these two...

Nice pair SunKing ... they look right next to each other.

Kevin from CPR just posted the full scoop on the roadmap for Paragon playfield reproductions. Some challenges, but very promising...

I'm all in guys ... just plunked down the bucks for an NoS playfield, and I'm working to line up a premium restorer for a proper resto and clearcoat. 34 years of storage does not make for a play-ready playfield.

Hey everyone i'm pretty new to pinball and pinball machines but i just got my first 2 machines and 1 of them was a pretty beat up paragon. i look forward to doing restoration on the play field and cabinet and being able to get it looking like those shown here.

Welcome to the club. Read as much as your can before your restore. Lots of great info here on Pinside to do the job right. Also check out great sites like Pinwiki for more technical and troubleshooting info.

Yep ... Enjoy the ride. Take it nice and slow. Ask questions, we're all happy to help.

Christmas arrives early Paragon fans. NoS playfield arrived from California today. Compliments to the seller as this really is quite beautiful ... and was packed to survive a nuclear attack. Giddy with happiness.

FedEx Dropped this off ... my dog Dex does the bomb/drug sniffing check. All good. Proceed to the unwrapping

THIS is how you pack a rare playfield. Nicely done eBay seller. Admiration.

Outside in the sunlight ... a thing of beauty. In my humble opinion Paul Faris is the tops in pinball art.

Backlit inserts. 35 years old and still crisp.

Was hoping to be a member today BUT somebody did a BUY IT NOW on EBAY for the one I wanted. I was waiting to hear back on the dimensions of the machine and it was sold less than an hour later. WAAAAAH!!! If anybody finds a REALLY nice one for sale PLEASE let me know. Playfield should be immaculate and I don't mind paying up for it. THANKS for any assistance!!

Wow ... sold for $4400. Was this the one you were looking at?

Quoted from CaptainFantastic:

No that's not the one I was referring to. One sold today for 2495 (Check completed listings...might not update till tomorrow). Person did a BUY IT NOW even thou there was a "Make an offer" option. Guess they REALLY wanted it!! I wanted to make sure it would fit thru my front door first...You snooze you lose.

Yep. I learn to buy first, then figure out the logistics later. There's always a way ... Like removing the head.

There will be others.

For $125.... that's $25 more than I paid for the machine! Anyone have a used set of the stencil kit?

I have a new set ... Once I'm done you can have it for cheap. Just be aware I'll likely wait until Spring to get it done.

Got my hands on a decent looking paragon. Been working on the playfield shopping it out. Wish I could do a bit of touch up and clear coat it, but at this point like to just get it playing. Here is a pic of playfield after lots of cleaning.

The trick is to TILT (so the bonus does not roll it) with as close to 999,999 as possible.
That is called "9-ing it out".

Never heard that before. Makes perfect sense. Need to give it a go 9-ing out my my Space Invaders.

Quoted from NJGecko:

For anyone who knows me, this will be a facepalm...I'm going to get another Paragon tomorrow.
Probably my 5th or 6th. I keep buying one, and upgrading. And for the moment, I purchased a Kruzman playfield a few years ago, and was getting it swapped to put into the nice cabinet I got 2 years back. But fate has smiled on me and I'm picking up a very nearly HUO one tomorrow.

Nice find Greg. Yep, looks like foreign spec game. I'd plug that center post (temporary of course).

Still have my second Paragon as my player, and your beater Paragon awaiting a Kruzman NOS pf swap, stencil, and all the rest....

Enjoy.

Quoted from Deezer5150:

Just joined the club! Recently purchased mine from NJGecko (Greg) It was documented previously on page 7 of this thread due to the strange diverter gate mod that it has. Lots of cool reading on here.[quoted image][quoted image]

Wow that Paragon sure took a long trip! Enjoy. My Paragon sits right next to a Space Invaders just like yours. Now just add a Future Spa, Embryon, or Hot Doggin to expand your wide body collection....

#702 8 months ago
Quoted from Deezer5150:

I’m actually actively looking for a nice clean Embryon.

Nice. I had an Embryon. Real fun game, albeit a strange theme for some. I liked the art, and the sound package was pretty cool. Mine wasn’t a good example so I let it go in hopes of picking up a nice one down the road.

I have a Future Spa in my widebody collection. It’s an underrated title. Plays fast and brutal like Paragon.

Quoted from nightsearcher:

I have a Paragon, Hot Doggin and had a Space Invaders' in my wide body collection. Hot Doggin is my favourite

Never played Hot Doggin, but it sure looks like fun. I’ll need one, and another Embryon, if I’m going to complete my Bally Widebody collection.

Quoted from Daditude:

Do y'all prefer incandescents or warm white LEDs??

Depends on the game/vintage. For my classic Bally pins I generally go with incandescent bulbs for GI, and LEDs on all inserts. I also generally like warm white LEDs on red or orange inserts, and cool white on everything else. Warm white frosted LEDs for backboxes.
