I will be joining the club on Friday...very excited.

Is anyone interested in getting a group order for a PDI glass that fits this pin? I have four standard size sheets on my pins at home and I think it is one of the best mods you can do for a game.

I would like to order a PDI sheet but Joey from pinballdecals said we need a minimum order of 5 to have a custom order done. Does anyone have the exact directions in mm's for the glass?

Or does anyone know if invisiglass from Jersey jack could make this custom size?

Thanks,

Pete

Quoted from Jgaltr56:

I would take one sheet.

Ok I am waiting on confirmation from Joey to see if this larger size can be done. If we can I'll start another post to see if anyone else wants in. How many other games have this glass size? Future Spa, embryon, space invaders?

Thinking about powder coating my side rails and lock down bar. Not sure what color would look best. Can anyone share some pictures of what they have done?

#355 7 years ago

Yeah I kinda agree staying traditional is better. But take a look at my lockdown bar. How can I get rid of those weld spots you see? I can always buy new side rails which are easy to find but I believe it's extremely hard to find a new super wide lockdown bar.

Could I send it to someone to make it look new again?

Pmaino Please switch out those Gottlieb flipper bats to Classic Ballys...the two on the right made me cringe a little when I zoomed in to look at the lockdown bar welds.

I'm doing a flipper rebuild on all four with new bats coming. Trust me, it annoys me every time I look at them.

Has anyone used an altek lamp driver board along with LEDs in the inserts. I just did this with my machine and I still have flickering on my bonus 1-10 inserts. All other inserts do not flicker. I have tried putting new lamp socks in and this has not helped. I've used non-ghosting and regular LEDs from comet and this makes no difference.

Anything else I should be trying?

#371 7 years ago

Ok. It's strange why some inserts flicker and others don't. Take a look at the video below. Bonus lights 1 2 and 3 flicker while the rest don't.

#376 7 years ago
Quoted from Toads:

If it's only a couple of inserts I'd solder a resistor accross them and be done with it.

Yea it's only 3 inserts. What's the type of resistor that I should use and where do I solder it exactly?

#379 7 years ago
Quoted from Sheprd:

Might need to go down to a 330 ohm. Connect right across the lamp socket. Use a pair of alligator clips and try your resistor first to get the right value.

Just to confirm. I have an altek Lamp driver board installed right now. Would adding a 330 ohm resistor do any damage to the SCR on the board ?

Also does it make a difference which Watt I get for the resistor? I see that I have buy 1/4 or 1/2 or 1/6.

#381 7 years ago

It turns out the solder connection i had on that wire to the common wasn't good. i added an alligator clip to the wire and this solved the flicker. Thanks for the help everyone.

Does anyone make these metal spacers anymore? They are a pain to get off the old plastics and was hoping I could just buy new ones.

I looked on Marco and pinballlife but didn't see them.

If anyone is interested in ordering PDI glass for their paragon let me know.
Info is on the link below. We need a minimum of 5 people to place the order and currently have 3 committed.

Anyone know where I can get a coil stop for one of the saucer kickout mechs ? Just finished a playfield swap and noticed one of them was broken.

Thanks!

Does anyone know where I can get a coil stop for the upper right saucer coil mech?

I was shopping it out and noticed the stop has separated from the piece of metal.

Thanks in advance.

Quoted from bluespin:

If you have the part# email Jimmy at PBResource; [email protected]. You can also try these Pinsiders; arcademojo, racingpin, ibuypinballs, too-many-pins

I can’t seem to find that part number in the manual.

#623 5 years ago
Quoted from Captive_Ball:

Paragon Saucer Assembly part number is ASE-428-41. The below is a breakdown of AS-428-44 found on page 60 of the 79-80 Bally parts manual. Not sure this helps what you are looking for.

Yes I think this helps. Looks like core plug assembly? I think that’s the coil stop

Quoted from pinster68:

Edit: just an FYI, it’s heading to Ron Kruzman. Long story short, I exchanged messages with Ron SEVEN years ago about doing this pf. Stuff happened and it took a back seat. I’ve never met Ron or seen his work first hand, but based on communications with him alone I’m certain this playfield will get the treatment of a lifetime, and from a genuine good guy.

I had Ron clear my NOS playfield. You are in for a treat. It’s simply stunning.
