I had this Paragon project up for sale cheap, but got tired of the cretins calling me to nickel and dime me to death. So f-it ... I'm diggin' in ... putting all my other projects aside. Just going for the tear-down and assessment for now. Might not bother putting the pf back in, but might give the pf restoration a try, then wall mount it. Everything else will go into storage until some day when CPR releases a pf, or somebody sells me an NoS.

So here's a few pics. Fun fun fun.

Rotisserie Schmisserie... once the top is clear and lower lugs removed there's little reason to flip it over constantly. On to a nice set of horses it goes:

Harness removed:

More stuff removed:

Quoted from Prmailers:

How much were you selling it for, must have missed the ad.
That would have looked cool next to my lost world!

$300.

All the mechs, switches and do-dads are out. Now on to the light sockets and common ground wire removal. Hakko 808 is on the job!

The wiring harness awaits a sexy bath in Scrubbing Bubbles then Bleche White.

Total time in so far ... maybe 2 hours.

All done topside...

And by the way, join the Paragon club meng.

Didn't know there was one... Will do.

And it's so much nicer than your description.

Trust me, the restoration will add up. Still a good deal, but it needed an MPU (repair or replace), 3 displays, a backglass (that one in the pic is, upon close inspection, toast), playfield and cabinet restoration. I had already purchased a CPR backglass, and a stencil kit ($350 for those alone). If I can nail the playfield restoration myself maybe I'll clearcoat and reassemble. I really like original playfields. Eh, we'll see. Time to read Vid's Ultimate Playfield Restoration Guide again.

And there you have it, stripped to the bone. Ready for resto.

Nah, probably right. I've heard it referred to as the ground and just stated the same. Either way I gave up using the Hakko and just pulled it all out. There'll be new sockets and wire run when the time comes.

Hmm ... so any long term thought on when the repro pf will come out Kevin? I'm in for two when that time comes.

Thanks for the education Kevin. I'm patient. Paragon is certainly a game worth the effort.

Quoted from Frax:

I don't suppose there's any chance he's got the Future Spa films.......

That's another pin on my want list and would certainly have CPR repro interest. It's such a great playing pin, albeit with a cheesy 80's theme ... But perhaps that's what makes it so great.

Bingo ... NoS playfield purchased. New life breathed into this project. Granted I'll probably send it out for a proper resto/clearcoat.
