On Friday, August 15, 2014, Project Pinball Charity Group, PAPA Headquarters and Replay Foundation will team up to participate in the its first Charity Fund Drive to help assist to purchase and place pinball machines in the Children’s Hospitals.
Project Pinball Charity is dedicated to providing recreational relief to our small patients and their families as well as the physicians and nurses who care for them at our local Children’s Hospitals. A pinball machine is a powerful instrument that offers therapeutic benefits which fit perfectly with the dynamics of a hospital environment. It helps keep patients active and mobile while also providing amusement.
The PAPA Headquarters is a 30,000 square foot warehouse dedicated to competitive pinball. Features include more than 450 pinball machines for tournament and normal play, projection screens and kiosks for reviewing tournament game coverage and standings, a broadcast booth offering live on the spot tournament coverage and fifteen television screens showing this live tournament coverage.
The Replay Foundation promotes the preservation, restoration, and enjoyment of pinball technology, with an emphasis on the player experience. They are bringing together the Replay FX Arcade & Gaming Festival that will feature the largest public collection of full-sized pinball, arcade, tabletop, and console games and the greatest face-painters anywhere in the solar system.
Project Pinball Charity will be setup at the PAPA Headquarters in Carnegie, PA, to hold a Charity Challenge High Score Contest that will benefit their charity cause. This high score contest will allow a player to pay $5 per entry try. All the proceeds will benefit the Project Pinball Charity and their cause to help the Children’s Hospitals.
“Sponsors and volunteers are crucial to our work, so we’re thankful to have built such strong relationships with PAPA and the Replay Foundation through the Project Pinball Charity,” said Daniel Spolar, Senior Director. “This program wouldn’t be possible without the generosity of our sponsors, volunteers, pinball players nationwide, and with their help we can make 2014, Project Pinball’s best year yet!”
