On the flip side, I'm loving the A division list.

Didn't plan on playing PAPA this year but I might buy some A tickets just for fun with those games.

Hopefully making the trip to papa 20 and have two questions maybe someone reading this can answer. Can you sign up for the tournament at the event or did you/ do you have to pre-register? Do you have to be there Thursday-Sunday to be in the tournament? I would be entering division D if that helps.

You're able to register at the event, no pre-registration required.

You also don't have to be there all weekend. Thursday - Saturday are all open qualifying. Buy tickets and play qualifying games whenever you'd like, and you're welcome to play all the other games in the facility or go out and about too. If you end up qualifying for finals then you have to be back there on Sunday, and there will be a report time for you to check-in by on that morning.

I think pre-registration got me a t-shirt three years ago (PAPA 17)... but you can have as many entries as you want. (They cost money, of course).

Does anyone know if the April 5-9 event will be streamed? I really hope so.

    #17 5 days ago

"A" Finals usually are streamed. If the stars align some "A" last minute qualifying coverage may happen like in the past. Perhaps they will surprise us and get some classics action in this year.

I don't think those cameras attach to their video mixer, nor do they have cameras for the score displays on each game. I don't know for sure how they have their system set up, but I'd assume getting broadcasting set up for classics would just be too expensive for what it's worth at this point in time.

Given the cheaper ticket prices, I would assume the games are going to be a lot busier this year. Maybe bigger banks?

I think that because each game isn't tied to a "run" that the lines might actually shape up better, because people will be more maleable with their selection. People won't have situations where there's only one or two specific games left they exclusively want to play to complete their run, instead they'll be able to play whichever game at any time, so they can give preference to one that they won't have to wait as long for.

Also with the main area being on free play instead of token play people might be more likely to take longer breaks more often, easing up some traffic in the tournament area.

They added more games to the classics banks to reduce the lines. You could play like 2 tickets in 4 hrs last year. That's too much sitting and waiting

The A,B,C, and classics banks are all larger than last year.

Last year 2 tickets would equate to 10 games this year.
