Hello!

I have a Panthera JM going through:

Has not been turned on in over 20 years
Rebuild all the mechs
Got the MPU rebuilt by Jerry Clause
New power supply
New driver board.

When I turn the game on the playfield GI doesn’t come on, inserts flash and go out.

Then only the displays come on with the backbox GI and have garbage in them.

Tested all fuses with a meter and they are good.

Any help would be a appreciated!

I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will jump in on this, but if you power it down, hook up just the displays (A1-J2 and A1-J3) to the MPU and remove everything else, what do you get on the displays?

Looks like you have more than one issue maybe? The playfield GI should be 6.3VAC coming off the fuse block, through one of the connectors from the PS to the playfield. Can you check the leads coming off of the transformer? The playfield and Backbox GI should illuminate at the same time, when you power on the system (unless Panthera has a relay controlling the lights which I don't think it does). They should be fuse F1 and F2.

Also re-seat A1-J5, your picture shows its not seated properly. I would also check all the connectors that don't attach to a circuit board, and make sure they are seated properly and don't look hacked.

Make sure you get 5volts at the MPU A1-J1 for both sets of terminals. I know the factory PS has a pot to adjust the voltage, not sure if the rottendog one does.

Thanks! Figured out I wasn’t getting 5volts to the MPu. Game boots now.

Also saw that J5 and J4 on the mpu have messed up pins that are corroded. So next step is to fix those as they are all the switches I think. And none of them are responding right now.

Three main things to tackle - connectors, connectors and connectors

I don't see any ground mods either.

Been doing connectors all day. Displays work, game boots and it starts a game. Most coils are out and playfield GI still doesn’t work.

Driver board connectors are next.
