Just picked up one of these rare vids last week. I will be damned if I cant find the volume knob.
Ive got settings and menus buttons behind coin door. Nothing on the back accept power switch.
Thanks.
Could really use a set of handles to.

#2 4 years ago

ok, may have found the problem. Service switch may not be working or loose wire.
Will update.

Should have made this a club!
Suggestions, tips and trouble shooting.
Found volume in settings, it was set to 42 per side, way to loud for garage arcade.

I need handles, all the pieces!
All my rubbers are shit and the tough black pad i bought to make new ones lasted a week.
Thinking of replacing with black ABS chunks or black nylon pads. No more black rubber.

My monitor is also old, 27 years at this point.
Seems an LCD 27 inch would work, anybody do that yet?
I have the stand up original.

This is day 1 pic, topper is on and works good.
Will be adding led color changing strip up there in time.

Quoted from LateCenturyMods:

Sega used to use urethane blocks for that kind of thing. Might want to see if that will work. I envy you - I'd love to have this game myself.

Seems more and more are popping up. I now know of 7 in my greater 100 mile radius. Seems 4 are just from the last 4 months. Ive also seen other Japanese games popping up in my area. I suspect someone shipped in a cantainer from Japan this year.

My roller under speaker/start panel that's in between handles is completely shot to.
Urethane might work there to.

That game is a hoot!

It is a blast! My game is a beater but works pretty good. 13 year old boy is having fun pushing me.

How do I make this a club?
More parties and more games in. Everyone loves this thing.
Show Your Panic Park Gang. Need pics and lets fix these things!

I used to have one and sold it. Would love to get another

WHAT!
You sold it?
My thirteen old would kill me if I sold this thing. I think its stuck here till he's at least in college.

Had one for a year or two, was pretty neat, great party game. If you dig that one another oddball is Bishi Bashi[quoted image]

Played it! Amazing game.

Tips on converting Panic Park to LCD monitor greatly appreciated!!
I know I need a EGA to VGA converter.
But what monitor would folks reccomend?
Then to mount the damn thing.
Suggestions?

Quoted from Dr-Willy:

You can basically use any tv of your choice. I always go with one that auto powers on upon power restore. I usually go to best buy and ask them to unplug the tvs and then plug them back in and see which ones auto turn back on, then pick which one i like out of the few they have. I usually fab up some flat steel bars that mount to the vesa ports on the tv and then mount to the studs of where the original monitor mounted in the cab.

Thanks Willy!
On my list to upgrade this monitor.

Still looking for Panic Park Handles if anyone has some lying around.
Thanks

#23 3 years ago

Used beat up handles, dont care. I have raw metal to sand the rust off of.
I know a variety of hacks with bicycle grips and what not.
But would rather have original handles or remakes, even used.

#24 3 years ago

I'm also during my sanding process replacing some of the rubber bumpers with nylon. Tired of rubber pellets coming off bumpers making game dirty.

Quoted from LateCenturyMods:

You need the handle itself, or the soft grip? (I don't have either one, just asking...)

I need the whole handle set, both sides, all 6 pieces.
I have a Spare NOS manual for Panic Park if anyone is interested. In 3 languages as published.
I found 2 of these in Spain of all places. One spare to sell. Sorry, not cheap.
$50 plus 5 Shipping.
Thanks
Eric
