I am trying to restore my Williams Hurricane. Today I decide to touch up the areas on the silkscreen plastics that have paint missing which is pretty much every piece except the ramps. I did a great job matching the colors. After the colors dried, I painted over those areas with white to match the rest of the plastic. I was extremely pleased with my work until I took the plastics, placed them in the machine and turned on the machine and the GI lights shined through the plastics. Every area on the plastics where I had touched up looked horrible. The spot I touched up just stood out horribly, so I quickly took a wet paper towel and wiped off the acrylic paint. Two hours of work wasted.

Is there a proper way to touch up and paint the silkscreened plastics without having it look horrible once light shines through them?

Thank you for your help.
