Quoted from phillyfan64:

World Fair lockdown bar receiver. Rusted, badly pitted and a lot of the plating is worn off. I really don’t want to replate it. Is it worth trying to repaint it with a Rustoleum or Krylon metal finish?[quoted image][quoted image]

Funny you posted this, I literally just sprayed one for my Strato Flite last night.
Used the Rustoleum hammered finish

Perfect!! That looks awesome. I'll be picking up the same paint today. Any prep tips? Thank you.

I just sanded and Naphtha'd it, this is actually my first time using this paint. I need to do the other side of the sliding bar with the handle tonight, so far the paint is holding and not scraping off when i move it. I imagine itll get some wear marks where its metal on metal but those little blemishes are fine in comparison to the nasty mess it was before.

Jeez mrm_4.....that attention to detail
That turned out nice.
How did you get the sliding section of the lock bar apart? I thought the pivot point was crimped or something like that?

Yeah its crimped, I left it attached, it'll probably make sense more when I paint the other side and put it back together. I'll post as I go in real time.

It’s still tacky so it’s just sitting on there but it certainly looks better. Thanks mrm_4.

Finished mine up, I’ll probably put felt or something under the playfield hooks so it’s not metal on metal when I drop the playfield back in. Overall I think it turned out alright
