I'm trying to touch up some areas on my Capt. Fantastic. My daughter has done a great job of mixing my paint to the correct color but the problem is that my paints dry dull and will not shine like the rest of the playfield. I have been using the createx paints as well as the cheap acrylics. Should I be painting over my touch ups with clear paint? I don't want to clear the entire playfield, just get my player machine looking better.

You can spot clear over just the areas you touch up. It's less noticeable if you paint up to an existing border in the original graphics, but you're probably doing the huge blue area in front of the drops...that's the first area that game starts shredding itself at.

You'll either need to clear the playfield (full or spot), place mylar over your touched-up area, or use a playfield protector (if they have one). Other than one of those three options, I don't know of anything that will last.
