I was skeptical until I tried it, but I've had great results using (Whizz brand - no kidding) 4" high density foam mini rollers bought from the local big box store. I've used both on EM restorations and to paint over bad areas on SS machines, including a Pinbot. Cheap, quick, and surprisingly easy to maneuver the roller around artwork without lap marks. For cabinet black I normally use Rustoleum Painter's Touch semi-gloss, although you may prefer a glossier finish.
