I have an arepachi. Similar to pachinko but the balls stay in the machine. Insert quarter to play and if you get the right combination of numbers (bingo-ish) it pays out quarters. Kind of like a skill based slot machine. If you get a ball in the upper center trap 'B' you get the opportunity to collect one of the four harder to get numbers by pushing one of the yellow buttons.

Edit: It's an Arrangeball, not arepachi.

    Quoted from cait001:

That's awesome! It's technically an arrangeball (also sometimes called Challengeball) as 'arrangeball' is for machines that output tokens like yours.

I'm guessing you've already looked for a faulty switch on the hopper and are looking for machine specific information on where to find such a switch?

Sorry, I'm not familiar with pachislo machines. I wouldn't expect the hopper motor to spin if it doesn't detect any coins available to payout. How does it detect if coins are present? There must be some switch, either mechanical or opto.

    Quoted from frunch:

Agreed! However, I haven't been able to find any sort of detection switch on the hopper anywhere. I found an opto that appears to watch the coins shooting out of the hopper (i presume for counting purposes) but i haven't been able to find any sort of switch/opto anywhere else. Where would such a switch usually be located?
I have the hopper here if posting a few pics would help or if there's anything you suggest i check.
    Thanks!

Again, I don't have a pachislo machine, but here is a youtube video that might give you some ideas.
