Just seeing if anybody here would happen to be interested in this machine. It was given to me non-working, I have since repaired it and it works fine now. I don't know anything about these and don't really want it. I plan on throwing it in a rummage sale this weekend for $40, but would sell for a bottle of Woodford or Makers Mark to someone here local that's interested
IMG_20230420_141629689 (resized).jpgI lived in Japan for 3 years (USMC, Okinawa). Words cannot describe how many Pachinko parlors there were. I walked into one with my wife one time. Hundreds lined up in rows, a heavy smell of smoke, and the loudest environment I've ever been in. The closest thing I experience state side was a tour of the U.S. mint as a kid where they were dumping millions of pennies onto a conveyor. If anyone ever travels that way I highly recommend walking through a Pachinko parlor for the experience.

pachi fans please go check out this other thread I started: https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/pachinko-evolution-video-1992-ft-dick-bueschel-amp-nic-costa
We have subtitled a 1992 Japanese TV show that was the first to begin exploring the real history of pachinko and working to dispel the myths.
Quoted from Silverstreak02:This is the first test fit of my new cabinet. I took it apart tonight for additional coats of color and clear. So far I like the look and it’s stable even with the machine open.

That looks really nice, you do great work.
Do you guys where I can find a stop board for a big chance 777 slot machine, i know the number on it ac1542ap3
Thanks
Can anyone here help troubleshoot a "HE" (Hopper Empty) error on a Mizuho Taco Slot pachislo? I don't know anything about these games and was asked by a friend to see if i could get theirs working. When i got there it was dead--i had to replace the two 3-amp fuses on the power supply to get it to power on.
Now that it's operational: it takes credits and spins/stops the reels properly, but if they win any credits/coins the machine will not dispense any of the won coins and eventually starts giving the HE error. Plenty of coins are in the hopper, and i managed to test the hopper motor outside of the game with a 24v power supply and it spun just fine.
Any ideas? I tried asking at a big pachislo forum i found but the folks there were not able to help very much...
I'm guessing you've already looked for a faulty switch on the hopper and are looking for machine specific information on where to find such a switch?
Quoted from Jvspin:I'm guessing you've already looked for a faulty switch on the hopper and are looking for machine specific information on where to find such a switch?
Well, i haven't been able to narrow it down to a bad switch yet. It doesn't even attempt to spin the hopper motor at all when the game is supposed to pay out. I don't really have any troubleshooting info to help out either. One thing I've been meaning to try: next time i stop by there I'm going to see if any LEDs flash inside the machine when i spin the hopper by hand with coins in it (to see if it can detect a coin passing through the hopper)... Any other ideas what i can do?
Sorry, I'm not familiar with pachislo machines. I wouldn't expect the hopper motor to spin if it doesn't detect any coins available to payout. How does it detect if coins are present? There must be some switch, either mechanical or opto.

Agreed! However, I haven't been able to find any sort of detection switch on the hopper anywhere. I found an opto that appears to watch the coins shooting out of the hopper (i presume for counting purposes) but i haven't been able to find any sort of switch/opto anywhere else. Where would such a switch usually be located?
I have the hopper here if posting a few pics would help or if there's anything you suggest i check.
Thanks!

Again, I don't have a pachislo machine, but here is a youtube video that might give you some ideas.
Hey cait001 - are you familiar with Looff's Lite-A-Line in Long Beach, CA? Looffs built amusement parks a century ago, and came up with a merger of pinball and pachinko that's played horizontally:

I've had a few photos of this game, it's pretty chill. Was it ever installed elsewhere?
In the UK they had a handful of single player gambling machines with a similar feel

I believe it was only installed there, as it was built by them, for them. I'd love to have a single unit to play at home...!

Awesome work!
I had someone offer a free pachinko that is at least 20 plus years old. No details. I politely declined. What should i tell him to do with it? Does it have any value?
What area are you in? I'm sure some one would pick it up eventually, I know the old ones sit on CL forever even at $50.
Never really seriously wanted one, until now. Oddly the ongoing argument of Licensed vs unlicensed themes over pins rings true here as well, maybe more so?
Dang it, the theme totally grabbed me on this one. Girls und Panzer! Have to add this one at some point. School me on the essential pre-purchase knowledge!

I’m looking for one that is reasonably priced. Star Wars is awesome, but not for over a grand.
