While still capable of delivering traditional pinball experiences (and progressive ones too), the P3 has a number of differences from traditional machines. Because it's a multi-game physical pinball platform, it has a modular physical design that makes it very easy to do many standard maintenance functions (cleaning the playfield surface, changing rubber rings, adjusting post positions, etc). It also has a multi-application software environment so that owners can easily change between the available games.

We've created a video learning series to help introduce people to the P3 and to demonstrate common tasks. We'll continue adding to this series over time, and we'll supplement the videos with written documentation.

While you can always contact us for help with your machine, feel free to use this thread to ask about or discuss common P3 usage and service operations.

Great stuff. I like that they're done FAQ style with short on-topic videos, so if you just need a specific demo you can jump right to it.

Thanks, Eric.

If anybody has any specific feature requests for future videos, please let us know.

So cool! I love the way the upper playfield module clicks in.

Maybe you should do one about removing the glass and lock down bar for complete beginners. I don't think I saw that.

#5 1 year ago

The P3 looks like a wonderful machine to maintain. I can't wait!

One thing I'd love to see changed, though, was the flippers whacking around while changing volume. It would be nice to have those turned off as they appeared to be in the Diagnostic app. Less wear and tear all around.

Another couple good videos might be showing playfield lane adjustments, maintaining the scoop/wall system and running code updates and adding apps.

Agreed - it's now on the list.

Agreed - added to our to-do list.

Agreed on all 3. Thanks.

Have any more shipped since the first game went out a couple of weeks ago?

#8 1 year ago

Heh - yes, including the first P3 to go overseas. That said, nothing is as notable as the first shipment, and we aren't likely to announce ongoing shipments. We'll just do our best to continue ramping up production speeds and executing as best as we can. There will be plenty of P3s in the wild soon enough.

Now back to the P3 Training Series. I've received a few more suggestions in PMs. We're putting together a plan for the next set of recordings.

The videos (and the P3 platform) look great. Thanks for making them. One suggestion - if you're recording more, you might want to get a remote microphone so the sound is clearer.

This system looks incredible. By trade, I am a music producer and recording engineer. If I can help you in any way, pls let me know. I'm cheering for you guys and wishing you great success!

Looking forward to this, would love to play this on location.

How about a video on how to connect and play Heads-up with someone over the Internet.

#12 1 year ago

love the videos! I assume you'll rerecord or upload the team setup and player profile videos.. great ones to have on this series. Diagnostics look amazing on the Playfield LCD -- so cool!

Suggestion on the exiting a game app-- possible to add a operator setting to make changing apps done via a quick button combo rather than opening the coin door and waiting 6sec? That makes sense from an operator standpoint but for home environment when I want to just quickly switch from Lexy to practice a round of agent showdown and back, I'd like to just hit and hold start and launch for 2 seconds or all 3 buttons on left side or something.

That would be a great idea. Maybe if you hold Start and Launch for a few seconds it "overrides" the coin door switch - e.g Message pops up saying Coin Door Open/Closed and you can then do whatever commands you would do with the coin door open (e.g. Exit App, Volume up/down etc).

There's already an operator setting to allow an exit via holding the start button without opening the coin door (ie. for home use when you want to allow your friends/family to change apps without the key), but we forgot to show that in the video. Your suggestion makes sense too especially volume control.

We'll look into this.

The excitement continues to build - thanks Gerry! Are there plans for operator features such as location advertising and online fault monitoring?

(Is anyone else here mad enough to be putting their precious Lexy on location?)

So many plans - some you might expect, some that might surprise you. That said, we are a small organization that just started shipping a revolutionary product; so we have to be smart about dev schedules and make sure to focus on customer experiences. I wish we could implement all of our plans immediately, but we can't.

Totally apreciate and understand At least I'm in the lucky position of being able to hassel BJ in person a few times a year at NZ comps.

Just a shout out to multimorphic for taking, listening, and responding to feedback from the public and customers as to what they would like to see -- very cool!!

As more questions come in from customers, we'll continue adding videos to our Learning Series. Here are two new ones:

Removing the playfield display:

Accessing extended service positions:

We're also about to start posting technical how-to documents for common servicing needs to our support site.

great videos and excellent machine design / engineering

Interesting reading, thanks Gerry. Minor typo on page 7 of the removal guide - "front most" should be hyphenated.

Documentation done so far is thorough and very well done! The videos are great. I’m guessing the first time you accidentally pinch your guiding hand between that bar and the receiver is the only time u do it

More videos added:

Installing software via USB (Requested):

Removing Lockbar and Playfield Glass (Requested):

Mechanical Difficulty Adjustments:

Yep - Those are on the list, but the button combos to configure and activate them are currently specific to LL-EE. We're going to reorganize the features into a better designed menu / subsystem so that you'll be able to access/activate them the same way in all games. So we're holding off on the training series videos for them.

We just added a technical document for adjusting wall/scoop heights and front-to-back alignments. It's available on our support site. If balls are jumping due to a not-level transition between the playfield plastic, walls, scoops, and upper playfield, first make sure your playfield is properly seated and latched. Then look into height leveling of the walls/scoops.
