Just got a BTTF and the flippers are shockingly strong, as in, probably TOO STRONG. The coils are correct so it's not an issue of coil as far as I know. But literally every single flip sends the ball flying so fast I'm afraid something is going to break, it constantly ricocheted off of the drop targets hitting the ramp of glass. This can't be right...anyone have any insight or reccomendation? I'm scared to play the thing for fear of damaging it!

Here is a pic of one of the coils just because....

Check the manual and see what coils are called for in the game. Someone could have swapped the, at some point.

As far as I can tell from the manual and comparison charts I checked, these are correct coils.

Is your pitch set steep enough?

In my research the FL-11629 ones are a step down in power and the FL-15411 is a further step down in power.

Manual calls for 23-900, not 22-900. You've got the wrong coils in there. You need 90-5020-30

You sure about that? Page 55 of the manual specifically says 22-900

Copy I saw on ipdb says 23-900. No idea if there was a revision or not.

Edit: page 26 calls out 23-900

Regardless of what the manual calls for, if you think the installed coils are too strong, try the next weaker coil. My BF had one coil which was too strong and the other too weak to make the ramp. I swapped them and the game played much better.

im going to order a set of 90-5020-30 and see what happens. Interesting that the manual has a discrepancy!

Installed the 90-5020-30 over the weekend and its a world of difference. Game plays MUCH better and slower (in a good way). I have pitch at 6.5 degrees and it now can make every shot easily and at a more reasonable speed.

90-5020-30 is the way to go on this one.
