Heh. Awesome movie.

Unrelated to this, and maybe this whole thread (I'm not familiar with most of the movies mentioned, and I didn't read the whole thread), I recently found about Ex Machina, and would recommend it as a good to great "about stuff" sci-fi movie. It has some really nice use of metaphor, and cinematography that is meaningful to the film. Some may find it dull? There's almost no "action."

Quoted from dmbjunky:

They also tend to present situations and moral dilemmas that are thought provoking.

Oh, I'm with ya. As far as I'm concerned, this is what makes movies worth watching.

I'll watch movies with nothing to say, and on the whole I don't care for "films" as they tend to have a "corn cob" quality if will, but most of the movies that really stick with me are "about stuff" without being too pretentious.
