Woowee, I can't wait. Maybe Westworld can do to Sci-Fi, what Game of Thrones did to Fantasy. It also reminds me of Deadwood. I'm excited.
Update:
I just changed the title of this thread (one LAST time?) to, "Discuss movies, TV shows, and web-content here!"
Okay, now...THAT just about covers everything once and for all, right?!?
here's a list of the 50 most disturbing movies

You know it's a list of some pretty fu**ed up movies when Hostel is ranked #50 ...

Don't know what to say, when 'The Human Centipede' move is in existence, not sure that's right, and I like disturbing movies but at what point do you think 'that's over the line?'

I've seen clips of it but never seen the whole thing. I really have zero interest.

I'm not a fan of the "torture-for-entertainment" genre.
On a lighter note, I present this to you:
One Week...hmmm...I liked this movie! To be fair, it reminded me of some "unexpected CRAP" in my life and/or the lives of my family and close friends. One Week also reminded me of good times I've had road-tripping back and forth across North America.
For my scary movies of Halloween, I watched The Strangers with Liv Tyler. It was interesting. I couldn't decide if I really liked it or hated it. The ending was just all of a sudden and no motivations were explained. It did have a gripping atmoshere though. I also watched The Invasion which was a Body Snatchers remake. I really enjoyed the first part where they're not sure who's an alien and who isn't. That's just such an enjoyable premise but it took an action/zombie style toward the end. I also would have liked a little more ambiguity to the ending.

The best movie where they don't know who is the alien is Carpenters remake of The Thing.

Yep and it had an ambiguous ending too. When you mentioned Carpenter, I though you were going to say They Live. I still haven't seen any of the old Body Snatchers movies. I've heard the 70s one is pretty good.
I just watched Bone Tomahawk, a western with a good cast including Kurt Russell. I wanted to go to the theater to watch seeing as it came out yesterday but no theater was carrying it in Southern Indiana. It was a limited release but also a VOD release which upsets some theater chains. I was going to take my parents since they are western and Kurt Russell fans (kinda glad I didn't) but just watched it on Amazon by myself. Really good but it could be a little divisive. It was really slow and tried to be an authentic western which I think it succeeded at but could be too boring for some people.
I really love this poster.
I just re-watched Edge of Tomorrow. Wow, what a great sci-fi/action flick!
I recently re-watched Grabbers as well. I think it's a fun/goofy/sci-fi flick! It seems to be a distant cousin of Deep Rising?
PS: Ash Vs Evil Dead debuts later this week...Woohoo!
Quoted from CaptK:I just re-watched Edge of Tomorrow. Wow, what a great sci-fi/action flick!
Agreed. Non-stop fun from start to finish!
I watched The Conjuring for a scary movie and it was pretty good. I love the idea of husband and wife ghost chasers. It didn't have many original ideas but it did those ideas very well. The backstory was very interesting and I could see them setting up a series of movies. In fact, there was already a spinoff. Has anybody seen Annabelle? Opinions?
I also have been watching Red Letter Media's Best of the Worst on Youtube. I already loved these guys from the Plinkett reviews and Half in the Bag but I just recently discovered Best of the Worst and it's great. They watch three bad movies and decide which is so bad it's good. Here's the most recent where they watch a Kiss movie:
I just watched the first episode of Ash vs Evil Dead. I had a whole lot of expectations going into it.
I felt it was a bit of a mixed bag at the beginning. Then again, they have to establish what has happened in the last 30 or so years and what is happening now so there's "THAT" to contend with!
By the end, though, I was cheering, laughing, and clapping! (The last line in this first episode put a big smile on my face.) I can't wait to see what happens next.

I'm looking forward to watching it. I've been binge watching Best of the Worst. It's such a fun show and I've laughed so hard.
I just watched the first episode of Utopia. It's a 2013 UK TV show that consists of twelve 1-hour episodes. I had heard good things about it, and the first episode didn't disappoint. I hope the next 11 are as entertaining/intriguing as the first.
Another UK TV series to check out is Misfits. It's sort of like Heroes, but funnier, naughtier, and better.

I watched the second episode of Utopia. Wow...great stuff! It makes me wonder how many other under-the-radar shows are out there that I've missed?
I checked out the first two episodes of Ash vs. Evil Dead. They were really great. The first episode had a really great blend of jokes and scares. When the cops were checking out that house at the beginning of the episode, I was freaked out. Bruce Campbell was great and I liked how he went from bumbling idiot to badass. The CG was a little weak, especially when they used so many practical effects that looked great. I can't wait to watch the rest of it.

Yeah, I liked the first two episodes of Ash vs Evil Dead too! I agree with you about some of the CGI effects, but thankfully most of the effects seem to be "real".
FWIW: I've now watched the first season (six episodes) of the UK TV series of Utopia. It was a wild and crazy ride the whole way through. I hope the second season can somehow live up to the first.
You never really believe that you'll have old bones...I tell ya...it's a blink from diapers to depends!

They've really been able to recreate the humor from the movies and the sidekicks aren't annoying.
I watched Spectre last night. It was a little slow to start but had some good music at the beginning with a Mexican style Bond theme. I was hoping Bautista was Jaws because he was that style of character and I hope he comes back for another movie. Blofeld was interesting but a little disappointing. It felt a little long at 2 hrs 28 min and the middle dragged a little. Probably the third best Craig Bond movie.
I would like to see a return to the plot not being personally connected to Bond. All of the Craig Bond movies try give some sort of backstory to Bond which I never remember the older ones not doing.

Interesting!!! Thanks so much for the review! (I haven't watched Spectre, yet.)
FWIW: I've watched the first three episodes of Ash vs Evil Dead. Wow...such...CRAZY/AWESOME stuff!

I just reread what I wrote and I forgot to say that I did enjoy it. I'm just getting tired of movies trying to be 2 1/2 or 3 hours long. If they would have tightened up the middle a little bit, it could have been a lot better and moved at a faster pace.
Yeah I'm really liking Ash vs. Evil Dead. Some observations: I can't figure out if Lucy Lawless is bad or good. They are really dragging out her connecting with Ash. The tone really shifts when Bruce Campbell isn't on screen. I loved the line about Churros.
What's everyone been watching lately?
I just started watching Stranger Things on Netflix. I'm afraid I'm gonna binge watch it all tonight. It's like an 80s X-Files with a great synth soundtrack. I hope the payoff is worth it.
