Hello All,

Just picked up a Spirit of 76! The previous owner masking taped the stars on the cabinet and left it there never finishing the tape cutouts or repaint. The tape's paper all wore off and now there is solid and sticky masking adhesive all over the side of the cabinet. Anyone know a good product to remove the masking adhesive without stripping the paint?

Thanks!

I think you could use Goo Gone.

Or evostick adhesive cleaner

Depends on the glue. Alcohol for water based glue, lighter fluid, naphtha, paint thinner for oil based glues. Test in small areas. Goo gone works for both but takes FOREVER.

Wow Goo Gone spray gel worked awesome! I sprayed it and let is sit for about 20 minutes. Even the dried out solid tape adhesive came right off super easy. Not even sure why the stars were masked for a repaint. The side paint is in great condition. The front of the cabinet is a different story!
