Our "R" Rating in Australia is different to the American rating.
Quoted from MustangPaul:I have R 86 .
Must be rated different up in the states. The USA has it’s own rating for many things.
The standard here in NZ for ceiling is R3.6.
Quoted from king-pin:Room will fit around 88.
It’s looking good.
My room is smaller (180sqm vs your 200sqm) and I have 90 in there quite comfortably. Gaps for a couple more too ... 93 pretty easy. The 180 is clear space though, no toilets or anything.
One thing I would have suggested though (looks like it’s too late) is the ability to back a wagon/Ute in there, so unloading is easier. I can back the Pathfinder right though the sliding doors, and the pin slides onto my pin trolley, which is like the best thing evvvverrrrr

Viva La Pinball !! Talk about a hobby driving the market for:
1) The company that sold you the concrete is loving pinball.
2) The company that sold you the framing is loving pinball.
3) The company that sold you the siding is loving pinball.
4) The wiring.
5) The insulation
6) Climate control stuff.
Amazing. Absolutely !

That's what I was thinking it had to be.
Quoted from Spyderturbo007:Why use the channel on the ceiling and not just screw the sheetrock to the joists?
It looks like about 36" centers.... too far apart for sheetrock
Quoted from MustangPaul:Don't you have to put a plastic film vapor barrier over the insulation before you put the sheet rock up? Same with the ceiling.
It's on all the external walls and roof against the sheeting.

Yes,r3.6 is standard here to.
I am putting a few other things in there to. An air hockey table, juke box,a couple of multi games one 60 in 1 and the other 1968 on 1.not sure about the pool table yet. Will set up another dart board to.
Quoted from Theo_Ioannis:It looks like about 36" centers.... too far apart for sheetrock
Correct, the trusses are 900mm apart and the faring channel is 500mm apart to stop sagging. Joins are back blocked above for the same reason.

Haha let’s see how long those things last.
My guests always loved the air hockey - and the twin Scud Racer, and the dancing machine, and the sofa ... over the last 5 years, they’ve all bit the dust.
Sofa was the last man standing, it went out last week.

You guys are really kickin ass on that. What color are you going to paint it?
Quoted from MustangPaul:You guys are really kickin ass on that. What color are you going to paint it?
Thanks,still working on the colours.
20180910_093349 (resized).jpg20180910_093401 (resized).jpgI am assuming this is not a poll barn style building. That concrete pad has footings correct? Where are all the outlets at?
Quoted from pacman11:Where are all the outlets at?
That's exactly what I was wondering....
Quoted from Spitfiren8:Man those are some long sheets of drywall
Less Joints! Unfortunately
Where is the wc?

How about black, that place would look REALLY big then.
Quoted from MustangPaul:How about black, that place would look REALLY big then.
Actually - the opposite. Black shrinks a room. White makes a small room look bigger.
“It's a daring, dramatic interior design decision, and it can definitely pay off. But there's a dark side to, well, going to the dark side: Deeper hues, while warm and cozy, can have the unwanted effect of making a room feel small or cave-like.”
So - if you want to make a small room look bigger - go white or off white.
If you want to make a room more intimate - go dark.
I do all my offices I rent in white paint tinted with a little black to make it a really really pale grey. Looks white to the naked eye — but if you hold something white against it, you can see the difference.
Here’s one I prepared earlier!
I repainted this one last week. Area is 60sqm (640sqft) upstairs and the same downstairs. But it appears bigger, and makes a nice work space.

Out the door,27 acres of toilet.

Wow Rd.That room looks huge!
This looks amazing. I'm on a large enough lot that I've considered doing this, but have never had the guts to pull the trigger. Every time I see a thread like this I feel the urge more and more.
Quoted from BoJo:Is everyone serious with these electrical comments? You can see he ran the wiring and boxes before the walls went up in some off the earlier pictures. Even looks like he marked where the boxes are if you look close enough now.[quoted image][quoted image]
Yeah I see it, just a different way of doing it I guess.. I ran all the wires first too and installed recess lighting and boxes, then when I installed the drywall cut out around the boxes.. Looks good and you are flying man! What kind of heat are you putting in there? Duct work?

I wasn't trying to single you out and it was just questioned a few times by others as well. There are multiple was of doing it and I was just waiting for someone to ask where the conduit was next because in some states that is required so they think it's that way everywhere else.
They don't use gang boxes here for outlets or lights.......just like this

No recessed housing cans here in Australia, just romex wires drop down from small hole on ceiling
I lived in California for 25 years and built 11 houses there.....I still like the imperial system very much....lol
The longest drywall sheet here is 6m......20ft long
You won’t catch me with anything other than a metric tape measurer unless I have no choice. It’s normally only when I have to give someone else measurements like the cabinet or granite place
Someone has done this before
Looking good, thats going to be a nice space for pins. Are you planning on extending the finish work to include trim and flooring? Curious if your going for a finished arcade look or more of a functional shop. Sure seems like you are on your way towards turning that into a well finished space. Awesome job so far.
Quoted from king-pin:Third and final coat.

What are the 2 short walls for?
Quoted from MustangPaul:What are the 2 short walls for?
Structural, regulation on a wall that long.

Thanks,yes will be adding trim/skirting.
I love how quick this thread is progressing
Usually people take months or years to finish these projects
