Just want to say thanks for posting this thread and sharing your excitement with all of us. I can't wait to see it fully stocked with your collection!

    Quoted from Blitzburgh99:

To OP...looking very good. People seem surprised...but really nothing new.
    http://www.wdmb.com/texas_barndominiums.aspx
I once went and looked at some Rush the Rock driving arcades. The guy and his wife were living in an airplane hanger with an RV parked inside that he used for his sleeping quarters/trip taking. He had a steel “upper deck” platform (call it a second floor) that had living room type space, dining table, etc. and overlooked the main floor below. The main floor was his toys (plane, couple old cars, Pinballs/arcades, workout area, and workbench).
So...the next time you see a steel building just sitting off in a field somewhere, there could be one badass living pad inside.

My step mom's son (my step brother?) and his wife built a place like that. A two bedroom apartment basically and their son-in-law uses the rest of the "barn" for all of his toys. Very nice setup.

Thanks man, it will definitely be nice to be able to play these things

    Quoted from SilverUnicorn:

This is just awesome! I love following threads like this. Looks like this will be a great space, and as long as I have followed your work (including KLOV) it never seemed like you had a proper space to set up and play your masterpieces.
It looks like that is changing, and I am happy that you get to enjoy the fruits of your labor!
San Diego was in the top 3 of niceset places I have been in the USA. Would love to live there some day.

You should have installed ONE sheet of insulation with the text in the opposite direction.
    Be a rebel!

    #107 6 years ago

what will be the interior finish ? will you cover the insulation panels so you don't see all that wording ?

    #108 6 years ago
    Quoted from SunKing:

This, and a pool renovation too! You are getting set up for some serious parties.

    Quoted from PACMAN:

    That's the plan

I'll PM you my address for the invitation.

    Quoted from PACMAN:

    Thats it for now.
    Still to do:
Finish insulation, seal up around roll top door, install solar attic fan, wire up electrical and lights, install alarm.

Looks great but here in the Midwest we would still have to add heating & A/C. Get's both hot & cold.

    #113 6 years ago

110 and alarm system in. Will pull more power soon, need to dig a trench.

If you squint, my project and PACMAN 's projects look eerily similar!

    Through a bottle of whiskey?

    Quoted from PACMAN:

    need to dig a trench.

Hey, I did that last week.

Was starting to get a little concerned about those three 60 year old wires dangling between the house and garage.

The recent rains sure helped with that project.

    After a bottle of whiskey.

I know right? All kinds of nasty surprises lurking underground.

Beautiful original Star Wars under all this dust. Might be selling this as i have a few Star Wars games. Will replace the CPO, marquee and T-molding. Yoke works but could use a tune-up.

Someone re-did the side art on the Dig Dug but its total crap. Check out the graphic error (most likely poorly drawn with an auto-trace program). Will be replacing with decent side art eventually. The rest of the cabinet, glass, cpo, marquee etc are beautiful.
