We, along with the IFPA, are running a 3 strikes format tournament at Gameworks to collect funds for pinball designer Barry Oursler (info below). The tournament is on Sunday, 2/23/14 at 11AM sharp. Registration starts at 10AM. The format is 3 strikes so you play head to head until you lose 3 times (or win of course). We'll be using Brackelope to run things.

We're asking for a minimum donation of $20 to play in the tournament but feel free to give more. Donated prizes will be awarded to top finishers and all funds go to Barry and his wife.

    Gameworks
601 N. Martingale Road, Ste. 115, Schaumburg, IL

Feel free to join the FB event page so we can get a good grasp on head count.

We had exactly 30 people come out and play and raised over $700 for Barry and his wife. Thank you to everyone who came out for the cause! The kid struck again!

About mid way we switched to paper and pencil so that's all getting put together and submitted to the IFPA shortly. Look at those windows. Expo glare strikes again!

    Quoted from jpolfer:

How did Brackelope 'go down', if I may ask?

Well, it was more like the people broke down and there was no way to edit it in Brackelope so we had to go off script.

    Quoted from Spraynard:

Art can probably provide the full details, but I know at one point the results from match was recorded incorrectly and couldn't be changed. Thus a player was incorrectly knocked out. There might have been other issues, but they ended up switching to paper pencil shortly after that.

Nobody got knocked out incorrectly. It was more like one person had an extra strike and another had one less strike. Essentially what happened was a match got called, two dudes with the same name thought they were playing and one was corrected. Somehow they met each other and thought they were both the opponent that was called. After the match Dude 1 came up and said "I beat so and so". That got recorded. Dude 2 came up and said "so and so beat me" to which I said ".....wait a sec.....that doesn't make sense" and then we sorted it all out and figured out a way to rectify on paper
