    Quoted from cait001:

I know the show didn't have much of a pinside presence compared to all of the bigger American shows, but something tells me next year will be a whole new level of epic. I'm going to push it heavier and see if we can even get some of the Americans to come Northward for it.

    Quoted from Murphelman:

Exactly...We drive 6 and 8 hours to go to Allentwn and Pinburgh. This show is good enough to be up there with some of the show south of the border.

I think the problem with trying to get us guys to go north will be money. You guys come south because machines are much cheaper down here most of the time. What incentive would I have to drive 8 hours north to pay 35% to 50% more for a machine than I can buy it for 50 miles from home?

Not to say a few guys might not drive up to play pinball or sell a machine but I don't see a ton of people heading from the US to Canada to go to a pinball show.

    Quoted from semicolin:

I dunno, a chance to hang out with some folks that you haven't seen in awhile. The chance to play some games you've never played. The chance to learn french, the language of romance! The chance to eat some poutine! Maybe you'll see a moose! Maybe you'll see two moose! Maybe you'll have a good time doing something you haven't done before.
Or, whatever, you could stay put. Build that wall.

Not knocking going north to a show. Just saying it is a little different when you guys come south because you know 99.9% for sure you will be able to score a deal.

Personally I love Canada in the Summer but I wouldn't want to live their in the Winter. But with that said there are plenty of places here in the States I would want to live in during the Winter either.

    Quoted from MarkInc:

It's a great opportunity to sell your machines to us Canadians! We need more games!

How does the border thing work? If someone were to bring machines from the US to Canada for the show wouldn't they have to pay at customs to bring them into Canada? Seems like it would be a real PITA to bring a dozen machines into Canada hoping to sell them then to turn around and bring some or most of them home.

    Just curious!

It would be great if you could bring them to the show and only have to pay customs if you didn't bring them home but I know something like that would never work.

Paying to take machines to a show sounds fairly expensive?

I wasn't sure how any of it worked at the border. Typically when I head out of the country I take as little as possible with me and figure that way I don't have to deal with any of it. I do remember you can't have fresh fruit in a cooler or anything like that but I wasn't sure how pinball machines would be handled.

Hopefully this information will help you to get more guys to bring stuff North to your shows. I know you guys love those Classic Bally & Stern machines North of the border.

    Thanks for all the info!
