Non stop action....pretty damn good! And good lordy, the two chicks, Kate Beckinsale and Jessica Biel.........worth going just for that....two sexy little mommas!..

The three titties chick....not my cup of tea! I'm a titty guy and I'd like to get that image out of my mind.....

I heard that the movie does not go to Mars.... is that true? I can't wait to go see it.

    #3 7 years ago

Reads like a good review to me. I've seen a few critics reviews that gave it 2 out of 4 stars.

If it's something I really want to see, I go. Going sunday morning at 10am.

I've been doing alot of early morning shows on the weekends, and the ticket price has been
a steady $5 for all the first run blockbusters that have been out this summer.

Who says's it's expensive to go to the movies?

    #4 7 years ago

Any talk of it being made into a pin ? Could be a good theme .....

    Nope, no Mars at all.

    Possible sequel planning perhaps?

F#*k this remake! This will be a redbox rental at best for me. The original was a classic and from what I've read this movie did absolutely nothing to warrant a trip to the theatre. It's got a 33% on RT. I don't always listen to critics but I have a gut feeling that this movie will be a one time watch just to make me love the Arnold version even more!

It's been a long time since I read the Philip K. Dick story on which this is based, but the original characters never go to Mars. I've also read that this movie is attempting to recreate the original story rather than the Ahnold movie version. I have room in my heart for both, especially as Kate Beckinsale, Jessica Biel > Sharon Stone, Rachel Ticotin, IMO.

See you at the party, Richter!

I've seen both (at theaters) and prefer the Arnold original version. This new version is really dark, and frankly drab. It wasn't as much fun, not as coherent either. Too much digital too, but I guess that's how everything is now. The original was a lot more fun and campy, and not so dark feeling.

Good luck with that. Yes the girls are hotter in this one but if that is why your watching a movie, may I suggest PORN!!! Those two broads are both terrible actresses. Still smokin' Hott though.

    #11 7 years ago

    Yes, the original was better.
I expected this one to be horrible after reading the reviews, so I was surprised.
Not too bad. No Mars. Many nods to the original including dialogue.
    A decent popcorn movie.

    I never saw the original.

I liked the movie. I like Colin Farrell.

I'd put it at the I'm glad I saw it. Though I'd never watch it again or buy the DVD when it hits the cheap rack.

After seeing this today the original has a campy feel to it, the remake a more serious tone
    to it.

You will not see any t&a from either of the actresses in this. The most scandalous scene is at the beginning where you see beckinsale on the bed, in short shorts. Probably the hottest scene in the movie.

It's hard to put a percentage on it but if guessing I'd say that more than 50-75% of the movie are chase sequences. One chase reminded me alot of Minority Report

It felt to me like the momentum slows down towards the end. My uncle said he almost fell asleep during parts of it.

For 5 bucks I was entertained.

I wouldn't say it's a" must see" for the summer, but if you're looking for something to do there's worst ways to kill some time and money.

I hated the first one, and this remake is getting bombed in the reviews I read. Pass.

    #17 7 years ago

What scared me was the PG-13 rating... we know how that rating goes!

Oh c'mon gambit the original is a classic piece of 80s/90s "cheese"cake. Plus it's got Arnie in it what's not to love

    #19 7 years ago

gambit...if you hated the first one, you might like this one better...it has a totally different feel.

Did anyone else notice the same lady that Quaid was disguised as at the airport security in the original movie was also in this remake.. she even says "2 weeks" again.. pretty funny...

I hosted a screening of the 'real' Total Recall at my house last night. That was my peaceful protest against Total Retread.

I'll check out the new one when it hits cable...just out of curiosity. No need to encourage remakes with box office dollars.

My high school librarian looked EXACTLY like her....so, of course our nickname for her was "Two Weeks"

The number of remakes and sequels is staggering. The ONLY movie I have seen in theaters this year is Chernobyl Diaries. No regrets - least it was an ORIGINAL idea.

Arnold TR forever. The only thing the original is missing from this one is Kate Beckinsale.

    #27 7 years ago

Yeah, there were a number of nods to the original. I thought the last line of the movie was going to be..."consider that a divorce"

That's a shame...it should have tried to be its own movie. If you reference the original all over the place, you just think "well...why'd I buy a ticket to this copy, I'd rather watch the original"
