I recently picked up a Midway's Invaders From Outer Space that hasn't been turned on in 10 years, but was "working when we last turned it on". Pretty excited about getting this up and running, but it's my first EM.

As I dig into this, a lot of the components are working - score reels and timers run properly, aliens and ship move, gun shoots, but I'm encountering a strange issue where a wiper is going off of a trace and burning up when I move the gun left to right. The gun moves all the way left to right, and I have the wiper stopped in the center when the gun is in the center, as suggested. Any ideas as to what I should be looking at with this or why this may be happening?

(I've stopped doing this, other than to take the attached video)

EDIT: ZNET Drano - if you still have this game, does the length of this trace look similar to what you see on yours?

Can anyone with an Invaders from Outer Space tell me if it the wiper overshoots the trace by that amount when you move the joystick all the way to the right on yours? I wiped everything down on that PCB and cleaned the connections thoroughly and I'm still experiencing the same issue above. I know that's definitely where the trace is supposed to end (the photo is pre-cleaning).
